I hope some of you are inspector gadget fans. My friend claims that in the inspector gadget finale, dr. klaw is revealed to be the chief, or whatever he called his superior that kept getting blown up by the self-destructing messages. Can anyone confirm or deny this? was there even an inspector gadget finale? no one else I know seems to remember this. it’s just something that’s been bothering me for a while…
You friend is probably thinking of a TV movie titled Inspector Gadget’s Last Case.
I don’t remember anything like that, and I was a die-hard IG fan back in the day. Isn’t the chief a bit to much of a bumbler to pull off not only a dual image, but to have one of them be a clever villain.
Fave episode: the one where he’s trapped in a elevator that keeps slamming him up and down, and up and down, and up and down, until it was completely absurd. I remember watching that while my mom was in the room and we both laughed so hard we were in tears.
You know, it probably was IG’s Last Case she was thinking of… thanks, jeff, that had been bothering me for a long time. one of those things that eats at your brain, if you know what I mean. like when you get a really horrible song stuck in your head like Blinded By the Light but then you don’t even know if he’s talking about a douche or what and it drives you nuts. Thankfully I have TSD and the message boards, otherwise I’d have shot myself in the face by now.
The Chief may be a bumbler, but so was Verbal Kint, and we all know how that story ended 
I never even heard of that new series, and I’m glad I didn’t. I loved Inspector Gadget as a kid, and it seems like they really just kind of screwed with him even more. And what’s with that whole “Dr. Claw’s been taking a shape changing drug” thing from the review? That was the big thing with Claw is you never knew who he was. That’s his thing, man! To give that away, or try to explain it is just dumb.
Then again, the show wasn’t really the most intelligent show out there. Oh well, I still have my childlike memories. To the best of my knowledge, though, the original series never had a “final episode.” If anyone knows otherwise, I’d be happy to find out more.
