Just installed Yosemite. Diagnostics says wifi password is incorrect. I checked and rechecked and re entered it many times. Nada.
I posted to Apple communities and awaiting response. But you folks are smarter.
Thanks for any help.
Connect via Ethernet, and download the 10.10.1 update.
Then, delete “Airport” in the Network preference pane, and add it back in again.
Thank you beowulff. I now have internet via Ethernet. Today I installed that version 10.10.1. Not sure how to delete “Airport” in the Network preference pane.
I think maybe he means System Preferences > Network, remove the Wi-Fi, and then add it back in.
Ok. Thank you pulykamell. How does one remove Wi-Fi?
When you go to System Preferences > Network, you should have a list of your networks on the left side. You’ll probably see something like PCI Ethernet and Wi-Fi there. Click on the Wi-Fi, then the minus sign on the bottom of that panel. Then click the plus sign on the panel, select “Wi-Fi” for the interface, and give it a name. It should then find your Wi-Fi network (or perhaps you’ll have to select it under “Network Name” on the right drop-down menu.)
Thank again. Still doesn’t like the password. But the Mac has internet via Ethernet. The iPad is happy with the WiFi connection.
One more question…it asks for a WPA2 password. I only know of a WPA password that came with the modem. Is WPA and WPA2 the same?
