With the PS3 Welcome Back promotion, we get two free downloaded games from a choice of five. I downloaded the demo version of Super Stardust HD to try it out. I then decided to get that one, so I bought the “free game 1” from the store, then picked and downloaded the Full Game version of that same game.
But when I go to install, it says that that version is already installed. I skipped the install, and went to play the game, but it still said it was the demo version. I had to tell it to reinstall the game to have it not be the demo version any more.
Fine.
I also downloaded the demo version of inFamous, which is a 1.2 Gbyte download and takes me about six hours. I’m guessing this will be the same situation, where the full game is in the download, and it just needs to be unlocked.
Is there some way of buying the full version of the game (or the license, or whatever) using my “free game 2”, that doesn’t entail re-downloading the same 1.2 Gbyte file again?
But worthwhile - I picked up InFamous as part of “Welcome Back” as well. Awesome game…well worth the overnight download which failed, and then another all-day download to finally get it right.
Not sure – I got up the next morning to “download failed”. Same thing happened on both my Welcome Back downloads (got Little Big Planet with the other one).
