I used to have icq, then yahoo, and now aim (southreb333). I stopped using icq just because it took so long to download and was confusing after I installed it. I had yahoo for a while, but I always got ims from people who were VERY strange or trying to sell something. I don’t have much trouble with aim, I’ve had one or two people im me, luckily they weren’t really strange. The biggest problem I’ve had w/ aol (the mail anyway) is junk mail. I’ve never tried msn, is it any good?
BTW, do you go to chat rooms and stuff? Thats how I got some strange ims from yahoo people.

Haven’t had any spamming problems with it.
Try truetech.com I love them. Its free. Just have a webcam connected to your computer (what are they $29 these days?), run their free software, it sets up the server for you real easy. So freaky easy.
Then you get your very own homepage with your live camera & a chat room link on it so you can chat with someone as they see you on private or public live camera. It’s like way too easy.

I use MSN and have never gotten any porn or ads. I only have it here at work and use it to chat with a couple friends I used to work with. I had ICQ at another place and it was kind of annoying.

I used to get porn solicitations all the time on ICQ. I don’t have it anymore. I do have AIM, and have never ever had anybody I didn’t know IM me.

well…I have just been very annoyed by someone on AIM for ht first time ever. This girl, sitting next to me here in the library, at school, decides she will msg me and lead me on a wild goose chase for a couple minutes. Very irritating, so please feel free to msg her back, and annoy her.

I am a rabid ICQ freak [sub]53344755[/sub] and also have MSN at work [sub]kangrme[/sub]. I rarely get spammed on ICQ, but I still have 99b, and everyone I know that has 2000 gets tons of it. Plus, 2000 has bugs galore on it, and that I can live without.
I used to have Yahoo IM, but it bit the fat one. I do have AIM, but only because a couple of friends of mine that don’t want to mess with ICQ are on it. Otherwise, it, too, is a pain. [sub]But if anybody wants to talk sometime, my nick on AIM is slknthreat[/sub].
ICQ [sub]105563 (I’m an old-timer)[/sub], AIM [sub]Mr20012001[/sub]. I tend to use AIM more these days because it’s faster and it works on my cell phone.
I’ve never gotten a message on AIM from someone I didn’t know (at least vicariously), though I get spam on ICQ all the time. I reply with random swearing, but I’ve only gotten responses once or twice.
I’ve got AIM, which I don’t log onto on a regular basis, and MSN which runs unless I turn it off.
Tried ICQ once, didn’t like it. Never tried yahoo, because I figured 2 message systems are enough.
