Up, and caffeinated. Working closing shift at another store tonight.

Back at irk, but only for a half-day. The Section 5 American Youth Soccer Organization (AYSO) tournament is in town and I’m doing two U-10 games this afternoon at 2:05 and 3:10 PM

In predicted 92F heat.

Fortunately, the tournament leadership has shortened the games to 40 minutes each (down from the usual 50), so I have a fair chance of survival. But keeping up with 10-year olds on a 80 x 40 yard field at the age of 62 can be…interesting.

Especially with back-to-back games.

Still, I get to change clothes at irk and show off my referee regalia to my cow-orkers.

Well, enough slugging. Time to don grubbies and start mulching. Envy me…

Going to try to pick up mailbox keys at the post office, though I’m not sure if it’ll work out. I’m sure I can figure something out eventually. Then I’ll be going Fringing downtown.

Afternoon, mumpers…and happy Friday to everyone! It’s finally the end of the week and the end of the silly season for exams. All our marks have been sent out, and the students are having their end of year party. Nice of them to invite the folks that do all the admin work, isn’t it?

Lovely sunny day though, and I am planning to leave early for a change. That means I might even make it to the gym early as well. I reckon if I do an hour in there, I will end up thin and virtuous. It does happen instantaneously, right?

'im indoors has gone off to visit his family for the weekend so I have home alone and unsupervised for the weekend. So tonight it’s gym, cocktails and a DVD of my choice. Tomorrow errands and probably meeting a friend for tea and cake in town, then a quiet evening at home enjoying the post-gym peace, and on Sunday I’m off to see my doting parent for the day.

Two hours to go and I am out of here to put my cunning plan into action!

I’ve quit mulching for the day - I got about a third of it done, and it’s looking good. We’re both showered and dressed and heading out for lunch and some erranding.

Whew - I’m too old for this crap!!

Have fun, ruble!

Yay on FCK (somehow, that just looks wrong) coming home.

metal mouse, you probably will anyway, but make sure you drink plenty of H2O while you’re out there [del]getting runned over[/del] chasing after those ten year olds.

Even after missing a day, I’m caught up and it looks like I’ll be knocking off in another 15 minutes. Happy Friday!

Back from lunch and erranding. The poison on my left wrist is really nasty. And as we were driving, I noticed a few spots on my right wrist. Dammit!

**FCD **is taking a nap. I’m thinking about turning on the TV and doing some knitting. Or napping. We’ll see how it goes.

Made it to Firday thank goodness. I am so ready for two days off. I irked last Sat so am overdue for sloth and sleep.

My baby Lucky Louie seems to be doing OK with his incision and staples. Thankfully he has not acted as if he is in any pain. He has been coming to irk with me everyday.

I is hongry. There is only soup here so I may head to the Pubic store and get something else.

Midget we have a Fringe Theater here. doggioooo you meals always sound so good.
OK off to find food.

FCM Tecnu makes a line of poison oak/ivy/sumac removal treatment products. My husband is VERY reactive and needs to get medical assistance if he doesn’t get the stuff off of him and his clothes. He swears by this product line.

MIL will have multiple bypass surgery on Monday.

Happy Friday all.

Just got an email from OPM - mine was among the compromised accounts in the recent hack by the Chinese or whoever it was. So I now get a year of free monitoring. I should probably just go ahead and put a lock on our credit file anyway. I don’t see us trying for a loan any time soon.

Always something. Dammit.

We got into some Virginia creeper a couple of years ago, and hydrocortisone cream helped.

You react to Virginia creeper? I’ve got it all over my yard, and it doesn’t bother me at all, apart from creeping all over my yard…

Howdy from da cave! 'Tis officially the weekend! I haz declared it so mote it be. Pizza for dindin via teh intartoobz. I tell teh intartoobz what kind of pizza and OYKW shows up with pizza. Magic!

MOOOOOOM yay for FCoffspring visit!

Sunny thoughts and prayers for your MIL for a speedy recovery.

I know someone from Virginia. He’s pretty creepy but does not make me itch.

Fine then I’ll just talk to myself. Magic pizza has been ingested. OYKW is gettin’ ready to soak in the tub. Life is good.

I want pizza!

I need to figure out what to have for supper. Preferably something I don’t have to cook.

I opted for a mozzarella stick wrapped in a tortilla and nuked. Truly gourmet… :stuck_out_tongue:

I want a new stove.

Do I need a new stove? Hmmmmmmmmmmmmm. Define need.

Old stove: doesn’t have all the knobs, so I move the knobs I do have around to the burner I want to use. Can’t get replacement knobs. The oven will eventually get to the right temperature, but you need to run it 30 minutes or so to get there. I use an oven thermometer and ignore its attempts to tell me its ready now. Not self cleaning (this SUCKS). Not convection, which isn’t a broken things, but I really like using convection. The burners are finicky. I light one (or try) then while it’s clicking, I use a knife or something to move the plate around until it lights.

I think I have convinced myself. Technically it all works, but it’s a pain in the ass. I believe I’m getting a stove.

I have requested the hubby to provision us with the crazy chicken on the way back from visiting his Mom at the hospital. He took daughter. She is technically too young to visit the ICU, but they agreed to let her in.

MIL insists there is nothing wrong with her. She is fine (cough - 90% blockage all 3 arteries - cough). They’re only doing this so they’re won’t get sued. Sigh.

So we’re contacting the family to make sure everyone knows she is not fine. I sent her a big back of romance novels and her knitting.

Otherwise we’re quiet here today. 96 degrees or sumpin like that. Bleah. I believe I shall also try and figure out how to become “in air conditioning”.

you shoulda put some 'mater sauce on it - then you’d’ve had faux 'za

Greetings from New Jersey. Or as they say in the local dialect Noi Joizey. It’s an odd little nation but after the traffic through Philthydelphia City Center we were glad to cross the border. Spidey - saw the anniversary balloon but was just too dog (Vunder or Butler) tired to try to find our way back. Too much rain and too much construction. Am at the hotel computer and going to crash in the room shortly.

Now the really important news as far as Swampy is concerned. Dinner was prime rib with butter corn and baked potato and rolls and chowder and sweetbread (almost an apple version of banana bread) and apple pie which we brought back. Herself had much the same except chicken meatloaf instead of the rib. It was very much tasty like a cross between just chicken and just stuffing but formed together in a most amazing way.

Now off to roam the board and burp often.
