ruble that sounds nummy! Glad y’all made it safe. Did you have to get special vaccinations for Noi Joizey?

Nobody I know sez “Noi” Joisey. It’s “Noo” Joisey! Jus’ like it’s Noo Yawk. Jeez!

I think it’s time to recline and knit.

MWAH!!

Unfortunately they don’t have vaccinations for gunshots and stab wounds yet.

I joke but not totally. We’re in a pretty safe area (Brynmawr?) about 10 miles from Diggerland and we already saw two “police actions”.

Going from English to New Jerseyian is like going from Cyrrilic to Latin/Roman ------------ the sounds and letters don’t quite match up.

Surely you do not know anyone from New Jersey!

Do you do that a lot?
:dubious:

I know lotsa folks from dere. In fact, I got relatives dere. Whatsit to ya?

I would love this recipe.

My dinner was at Taco Bell. The new grilled stuffed nacho (I refuse to attempt to duplicate their “cute” misspellings) is pretty all right, and the apple soda at the fountain is quite tasty.

Nearby supermarket handled dessert (cupcakes) and my lunch tomorrow (chicken fried rice). I also found that I’ve racked up enough points in their rewards program to have earned a $7 voucher that I have to use by the end of the month. I’m sure I’ll find a way to spend $7 there.

My foot still hates me, and I think it’s more bruised-looking today than it was yesterday (my job involves standing all day). Not going to enjoy tomorrow, probably, between sore foot and hot warehouse. Seems to be an epidemic of foot injuries over there. I’m one of three peons with such an injury, and one supervisor apparently sprained her ankle recently.

I saw two more shows at the Fringe Festival today. The first one was a musical about a superhero. It was good, though I found it a bit difficult to follow.

The second show was an incredibly amusing show about the history of Canada. It was full of jokes, and there was an amusing slideshow to go along with it (for example, when the actor talked about King Louis the 14th, the slideshow showed a picture of Louis CK in a crown.) I laughed the whole way through the show!

Just a run of bad luck, or is your irkplace jinxed?:stuck_out_tongue:

Hope you get to feeling better, foot injuries are no fun.

Survived my two U10 Soccer games, ended up doing the Center for both of them. Everybody else was getting blowout game (7-0, 11-1), where you were pretty much on one side of the field, but I get a 2-1 game and then a 3-1 match with plenty of running up and down the field…and sweating (94F). Still, nothing particularly hostile from the coaches or crowd (one coach wanted to argue if a throw-in entered the field or not and one parent gave me a bad look cause his kid got chopped down (hey, I didn’t foul him). Gave myself a A- for game one and a B for game 2.

So of course I signed up to work three games on Saturday…but the good news is that is is only supposed to be 89F…oh joy.

Mazel tov!

Oy.

I worked, it stormed. I cam home. Making Greek style Bachelor Food for dinner.

Butters, glad Louie is doing OK. And I watch a lot of cooking shows, it inspires me.

The new Jersey Devils arena is in Newark. The outside shot counter goes up faster than the inside one.

I know a few. Bless their hearts.

Midget, sounds like a good tim

I’m not sure what’s going on with the sudden streak of specific-body-part injuries, but one was bad enough that a cashier was being allowed to use a desk chair instead of standing between customers (can’t see how she could actually handle the register seated, due to its height).

I’ve got lots more poison ivy than just the one spot on my wrist, and from what I’ve been reading, I probably got it from my work gloves and shoes. The itch-inducing oil lingers on surfaces for a long time. Plus my initial actions were wrong.

I got into a warm shower - it should have been cool. I used soap - wrong wrong wrong! And I didn’t wash my equipment and clothing, so the oil continues to affect me. The spot on my wrist is horrifically full of nasty fluid. It’s going to be a mess when it starts draining. And I’ve got various spots all over my arms and legs. I just hope I didn’t get my face or scalp.

I woke around 3:30 when the antihistamine wore off, and I couldn’t fall back to sleep, even after taking another pill. **FCD **got up with Higgs when she started fussing, but I sent him back to bed - no way I’m going to fall back to sleep right now. I’m exhausted and itchy - it’s not going to be a good day.

Poison ivy sucks. Not a happy Saturday for me.

Up, caffeinated, off to work.

Ugh, that sucks, Mooommmm!.

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN 'Tis 75 Amurrkin out with a predicted high of 96 for the day. I foresee some quality cee-mint pond time.

MOOOOOOM ick! Here’s hopin the poison ivy heals soonest.

{{{Nettie}}} hope the foot is all better soonest.

Ok that’s all I got. I need more caffeine and rumbly tummy wants to be fed. After that, who knows. I may go back to bed for a bit. Or not. It’s all up in the air at this point.

Happy Sattidy Y’all!

I overslept but was still up early enough to make it for [del]sunrise[/del] rainfall. :frowning:
Home now; back to bed since overnight was only about 3½ hrs.

Up again… I fell back to sleep on the recliner, and despite being woken by a couple of animals on a couple of occasions, I got over 2 hours of unconsciousness, so that’s good. Plus **FCD **brought me a medicinal muffin!

I had planned to do more mulching today, but I’m thinking I should wash all my garden gloves and the tools I was using the day I got this nasty stuff. Maybe I’ll just amuse myself indoors today.

So maybe it’ll be a happier Saturday than I’d originally thought…
