Secret hot tub?
No one told me anything about a secret hot tub!
What the hell is going on, already?!?
Asthma. And I wanna see you throw freight for 9 hours and not be tired.
Please have a good cry with me. My eldest is about to graduate from sixth grade tomorrow. I swear just yesterday she was so small I could hold her in my hands and marvel at her milky little fingers and cheeks with a hint of baby pink to them. Today she’s almost as tall as I am with thick curls and a talent for math. She has her father’s eyes and his internal introvert preferences. You can tease a joke out of her and watch the grin spread into her entire face about a second later.
In our twelve years together, I’ve learned how to hold tight while slowly letting go. I’ve learned that you can love someone so much that it is like another sense. I’ve gone from meeting her every need to helping her find her own needs without me. I will watch her tomorrow, in her pretty pink dress and heels and I will be both incredibly happy and just a little bit sad at the same time. My baby is gone. In her place is someone I adore just as much, a girl about to step into womanhood with me who still deliciously lets me reach for her hand.
As a pup, I had a Summer job at a plant nursery. They put me in the bed of a pick up and threw bales of peat moss larger than I at me. I see your point.
Congratulations. Now the fun teenage years begin.
(((((((SARI))))))). Check in when you can.
Congrats mom!
Blurf. It has been a manic couple of weeks over here in universityland - the time between the last written exam and the release of marks to students is possibly the busiest and most stressful time in the entire academic year for us. So far we’ve had two people off sick at various points during this time and on the day when we are producing vast amounts of papers for six different exam board, both our photocopiers broke down.
It’s finally over, all our paperwork has been sent to the lucky folks who have to check it all and now we just wait until they say we can release marks. If that goes ok, marks will be out today and I’ll be having a large and well-earned cocktail tonight.
Other than that, the boiler at home is leaking and spraying water all over the kitchen. 'im indoors thought he’d fixed it yesterday then got a soaking at some point in the night when he went in there. Obviously not fixed then, so he’s got to phone the plumber today. It’s just one thing after another at the moment…is it hometime yet?
**Blue **- my baby girl will be 30 this year. I have no idea when that happened!! In fact, if you lived in Orange county, FL, my daughter could be teaching your daughter next year!!
I’m starting to see some itchy bumpies on my left wrist - just above where my glove ended. I fear the poison ivy got me yesterday, dammit! I’m doing my best not to scratch - I don’t need to be spreading the stuff all over me.
It rained overnight and it appears to be overcast right now. All the rain appears to have moved over the ocean, so I should be able to transplant the lilies today before it gets too hot. That’s pretty much the extent of today’s plans.
Last night we finally watched the final episode of House of Cards - now we can go back and rewatch season 2 of Orange is the New Black so we can watch the new season that the rest of the world has already binged… So exciting.
Happy Thursday!
One other chore today - I need to take some photos of the bike painting in progress. **FCD **has settled on a dark green that’s looking gorgeous!! Can’t wait to see it in the sun, if we ever see the sun again.
Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up, purtified and caffeinated so no YAWN. 'Tis 74 Amurrkin out with a predicted high of 98 for the day. So far the NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE has not told me to stay in air conditioner.
Blue congrats to your baby girl!
Ok, I hear rumblin’s from the bedroom which tells me OYKW has finished purtification so we shall depart for brekkie at the Cookie Shoppe soon. YUM! I already told him he can’t have a cookie until he finishes all his brekkie.
Happy Thursday Y’all!
Blurf :mumble:
Dressed in grubbies - about to venture out and move around some daylilies. Good times ahead…
blurf
Up, caffeinated, off today. I’ll be hitting the laundromat later.
Stop & reread what you typed. Slowly.
Guess who we’re keeping it a secret from. :o
Up and at irk.
Had to sit through a 3-hour class on making better use of our Microsoft programs at work (Excel, Word, Powerpoint). Teacher was exuberent and enjoyed his work, but rushed through each change without more than one demonstration each then immediately on to the next one in dizzying fashion. We’re supposed to get ‘cheat sheets’ in the e-mail shortly. Plus he kept telling us stories about making ‘100’ charts and graphs in 10 minutes for some General, when of rmost of us kicking a two-page memo out the door is the most stressful action we get.
Oh well, 14 months to go to retirement…
Blue, kids seem to hit a ‘spurt’ about age 5; they suddenly grow so fast you can’t possibly keep up with all the changes. My best to you and your growing older daughter; just don’t have her grow up to fast (“Growing old is manadatory; growing up is optional”…something the MMP has in abudance, IMHO).
Of course, youo now have the teenage years to survive…
I think I’m the youngest (and least successful) person in the MMP. But I’ve moaned about my lack of success before, so it’d be boring to say anything about it again.
Besides, I’m not entirely unsuccessful.
In any case, if I don’t get back to my music arrangement, I’d be a slacker. So back to it.
I guess you are correct.
Some one would be a moron to post about a secret hot tub, wouldn’t they?
Where is it, just so I’ll be sure not to go there.
