So I went to the Fringe Festival last night. I saw 2 shows. The first one was a cute play about two 5-year-olds in love. I ran into a lot of my theatre-community friends in the audience there, which was nice. The second show was a magic show where the magician told stories and did tricks that went along with the stories. Both good shows, and a lot of fun to watch.

Youngest? Probably. Least successful? NOT. EVEN. CLOSE.

Howdy Y’all! Takin’ a little irk break. ‘Tis 80 Amurrkin out and so far the NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE has not advised me to stay in air conditioner today. Hopefully there will be rain/tstorms/apocalypse late afternoon and early evenin’. In other news I’s still stuffded from brekkie. I had a bacon and cheese omelet, grits, and a biiiiiiiiiiiig bizkit and et it all.

Ok, that’s the latest news from swampland. Back to irk soon I reckon.

Congratulations, blue! Now comes the fun part.

The Fringe Festival sounds like fun, Emily. I have always enjoyed acts tha were out of the mainstream.

I got up this morning like any other Thursday, got purtified and packed breakfast and lunch for irk, then went downstairs to a flat tire. My neighbor put the donut on for me (thanks, Miguel!). It appears that a ~8 penny nail went in and the point went out through the sidewall trashing the tire. They’ll have a pair ready for me this afternoon at the tire shop.

Meanwhile, I’m fixing to take a nap and play in the studio all day.

{{{Blue}}} Well done. It’s not easy watching them grow up so fast!

And all the daylilies are transplanted! Huzzah and yay!! <flinging confetti with wild and reckless abandon> I even divided a couple of clumps to fill in a few bare areas. The sprinkler is giving most of the hill a drink - I’m pretty sure everything I’ve moved in the last couple of days will get watered. The timer’s set for 2 hours but I’ll check and if it needs to go longer, I can do that. Pics eventually…

I’ve chatted with a few of the neighbors who walk by as I’m laboring. One woman has this massive beastie - I think he’s a pit bull. I’m surprised he hasn’t dislocated her arm, especially when he was trying to get to me for skritches. I found out she was one who took some of the hostas I’d left on the corner with a sign that said “FREE” - she said they were doing beautifully. That was nice to hear.

I’m showered and mostly cooled down. I tried for a cold rinse when I was done, but it was too cold - the kind of cold that makes you draw in your breath suddenly! Instead, I decided to turn the water off and drag my exhausted, dripping carcass out of the shower stall. It’s way too humid for this kind of work - I’m glad it’s done. Except for mulching, but that’s lots easier than digging.

Tahred…

I’m not sure but I did bookmark the site. Usually since I got the Garmin I don’t MapQuest - I just let the Other-She-Who-Must-Be-Obeyed tell me once I start moving.

And IMHO time well spent. Most are just the music but the two live ones from the radio show are great. The way “Greaber” can just go off sometimes and how funny he can be is why we try never to miss a live show. Something always happens to catch his attention and even “Carl” and “Barry” just sit back, cross their arms, and watch genius at work.

Buddy-tape it just to be safe and/or get someone to kiss it and make it better. Not some fetishist though; just to be safe.

Same for me. Great post, Blue.

OK – the first part I’ll believe. But the second part is still a 67-way tie as far as I’m concerned. Hugs your way, dear heart.

**FCD **is running out of the green paint, so we’re going to head out for some more. Lunch enroute. Which is good - I’s stahvink!

Still blurfy and out of spoons. I’m going back to sleep.

Thanks, all.

Tomorrow will be another Fringe day, and then there will be festivities of another sort this weekend.

I hate it when that happens!

What could possibly follow Fringe? Mainstream cuffs and buttons?

Lace up cummerbunds.

A rock concert, actually. :stuck_out_tongue:

Flaming codpieces.

Watching the Cup parade on the computer. Gordie has had his 3 walk of the day.

Chain mail togas

Yes, that’s true; you are posting about secret hot tubs. :o

Iffn you have a flat tire every Thursday morn, you may not want to drink so much on Wed eves; just sayin’ :dubious:
The floor mats in my car are muddy; my shoes now need a shine, & my suit needs to go to the cleaners because the bottom is now black & brown. They needed another mat under the tent at the cemetery.
Almost 95 ain’t too shabby of a life.

You laugh, but when the VunderKind was in high school, he became rather skilled at making chain mail armor for his local SCA wannabe club. He was always hoping that the wimminfolk would want chain mail bikinis, and he’d have to fit it on them personally.
He knew how to make a father proud.

in another twist of the drama that is life in Sunny-land, at midnight, my MIL came knocking and asked hubby for a ride to the hospital. Chest pains, trouble breathing. Yep - ye olde cardiac event. They’re saying Congestive Heart Failure. They’re keeping her until at least tomorrow.

She’s diabetic and tends to ignore her disease. She also doesn’t exercise, eats poorly, etc. So it’s not exactly a surprise. Just makes me more determined to take better care of myself. There’s only one of me and I want to be here for my kiddos. It’s more important to do that then it is to finish the leftovers from last week (she’s a fanatic for not throwing food away).

We don’t always get along, but she did drop everything to come out here when I got hurt. In this case a good thing, so we could get her to help so quickly.

Take care of yourselves everyone!
