Here is a page from the New York Times website that provides detailed maps about household income, changes in income, race and ethnicity, home values and educational achievement. This data is from the Census Bureau’s American Community Survey data from 2005-2009.

Click once on the tract you want and a box pops up.

Yeah, you have to click on it. I’m checking random places in the middle of nowhere, and they all have data when you click on it. If you’re not seeing data when you’ve clicked on a tract of land (and it doesn’t seem to matter where you click), then maybe it’s some browser-related issue.

The lowest I’ve seen is in Gary, Indiana, at $11,786. I live in the south part of that same county.

Kinda scary - it’s lower than Mississippi and Alabama, which are said to be the poorest states in the nation.

The rich people in my town are invisible, since the census tract that has all the big mansions and such also has a university with dormitories full of penniless students.

Lakewood in North Little Rock doesn’t indicate the filthy rich so in sos that live by the Lake.
