Interesting Anglican/Episcopalian ceremony.

A few Saturdays ago, I was driving along Santa Monica Boulevard through Beverly Hills, in the stretch where the churches are. I had a CD of John Dowland lute music on the car stereo, and by a charming coincidence, as I passed by the Episcopalian church a whole bunch of people filed out a side door wearing white robes. I couldn’t tell for sure, but they looked like they were about twelve or thirteen years old, so…was I probably looking at a confirmation class? Do people wear robes at a confirmation ceremony? I know in ancient times adult converts would wear white robes when being baptised.

Or were these people probably just the choir?

Choir or Altarboys/girls, likely.

We recently had a gathering of acolytes from around the Diocese (geographical area under the direction of the Bishop) at the Cathedral. You might have seen that, or it may have been a high ceremony with lots of ancillary assistants. Sometimes we Anglicans/Episcopalians outdo the Roman Catholics in liturgics.
