Don’t have any photos here, but I’ll post some when I get a chance. But it’s really lovely, long black gossamer filaments sprouting upwards. Imagine a sea urchin made of black cat whiskers. Kinda neat.
Anyone else seen anything like this?
I’m no mycologist, but my wife, upon hearing of this growth, demands that you first ensure the continued safety of your poor kitty’s behind, as it is in a particularly vulnerable state when it’s near the fungus.

Not sure what it is, myself, but this guy seems to have had a similar problem. Do you use organic litter too?
