Not mentioned is the fact it was asdangerous to the launch crew as the target.

Nevertheless, what the Davy Crockett lacked in accuracy it made up for in power, although the initial radiation created by the detonation of the W54 warhead would be as lethal to the enemy, if not more so, than the heat and blast effects. Since the warhead also posed a threat to the crew firing it, the Army recommended that soldiers manning the Davy Crockett select firing positions in sheltered locations, such as the rear slope of a hill. Soldiers were also encouraged to keep their heads down to protect themselves from the warhead’s detonation.

I scored 21. Not bad for someone who has always lived in a country where guns are very uncommon. Other than clay pigeon shooting as a kid (when the instructor was taking the weight of the weapon) I’ve never seen a firearm up close; the closest would be standing near to armed police at airports and the like.

23 correct including the James Bond weapon. However, the question is wrong. It was not Bond’s weapon of choice. It was chosen for him by the weapons expert Geoffrey Boothroid on M’s orders.

I recall Bond carrying a .25 Beretta until a reader wrote to Fleming about it.

Yeah that was the one, I didn’t mention in the interest of no spoilers. I figured they’d be looking for ‘bolt action’ but it’s not obviously correct. But it’s ‘would most likely use’ not ‘would (should) want’ so I think you might argue it either way.

I figured the US military would issue a modified version of the regular gun the other troops use for ease of supply and maintenance so, regardless of what a sniper might want, they would be firing a semi.

Nitpick: a DMR is not a “sniper rifle.” A sniper may use one, but they are more likely to use a dedicated platform, which are more likely to be bolt. In the past people also used M14 based rifles.

It looks like the M24 is/was replaced by the M2010. Wow, that’s a hideous rifle.
