Jupiter Gin, Jupiter Gin; Planet Poker, Planet Poker; Spacely’s a stoop, Spacely’s a stoop, Spacely’s a stoop, Spacely’s a stoop… .
I’ve actually watched the whole first series looking for stuff like this. There were at least three different work days/weeks mentioned in various episodes, so no canonical number can be given.
And you know the Flinstones live on the ground. The two shows are concurrent in time. It’s just that the Flintsones and their ilk are pseudo-Luddites. They pretent to not have tech, but really, did you think that stone-age tech actually worked? It was all embedded mictroprocessors and wifi masquerading as stone phones.
Or the Jetsons were the GMO-free future, the people who focused on “traditional” robotic technology to the exclusion of genetic engineering, and the Flintstones were the genetic engineers who disdained robots and computers as cold and mechanical and used a hyper-stylized representation of an Edenic pre-technological utopia filled with engineered animals which did the work machinery did in the world above the clouds.
Both societies were frozen in a Mid-Twentieth Century stage of social development because anyone more progressive decamped to an offworld colony. Earth was a reservation for humans who chose to remain in an older stage of social development.
You think you’re joking, but the canonical comic book The Flintstones at the World’s Fair (released in 1964, re-released the next year) clearly shows the Flintstones and the Jetsons co-existing in the 1960s. Scroll down a bit and you can see them both in the same comic panel:
Boy, does **that **bring back memories! :o
How can you tell he’s Chinese?
He has what appears to be a fairly distinctive epicanthic fold to his eyes.
Is The Jetsons Meet the Flintstones from 1987 considered canonical? It involved time travel, with the Flintstones being in the stone age and the Jetsons from the future.
We don’t really get a good look at Jane, do we? Maybe she’s of the Asian persuasion. :dubious:
She looks pretty whitebread eyewise. Maybe he’s not Asian after all it just looked like it in the brief snippet of his facetime. Maybe he’s an android child made to order.
… Or a Hybrid!
Dad looks a bit swarthy as well.

Seriously?
Is there a place to sign up for this option?
He meant in the commercial linked in the OP.
That’s how much impression the commercial made on me.
I think Jane is Asian also.
I missed that. I did notice that George spins the earth the wrong way.
I agree, but no episode has him working more than a three hour day, which is definitely not “all day.”
The quality of George Jetson’s job is another matter all together.
