it’s a picture of a 24-week old fetus’s arm, basically.
apparently it is the picture that got matt drudge fired from fox… he wanted to display it on his show, well, i’ll let the life site describe it:
Tiny Hand, Major Breakthrough: The skilled hands of surgeon Joseph Bruner lift the hand of a 24-week-old fetus during an operation at Nashville’s Vanderbilt University Hospital in July. The pioneering in-utero procedure was to correct the effects of spina bifida, a condition in the spinal column in which one or more vertebrae — the bones that make up the backbone — fail to form properly. This photo later became the center of a controversy when the Fox News cable channel canned talk-show host Matt Drudge. The cyber-pundit, who broke the Monica Lewinsky story, was tossed in November after refusing to tape his weekly show. Network execs had refused to allow him to show the photo, claiming Drudge planned to use it to further his anti-abortion agenda; he cried censorship and walked.
anyway, i’m no fan of matt drudge, and i remain convinced that the issue of abortion is a medical one, not a governmental one. but i found the picture rather rather compelling and interesting.
