ENG 0-140 off 13

Clear your voices for a resounding chorus of Jerusalem or Rule Brittania

Blimey Joss Buttler, that was probably the least effort for a 100m six that I’ve ever seen.

ENG 0-154 off 14

Buttler last burst takes Hales century all but out of the question.
They are going to win this with 3 overs to spare
Need just 3 runs per over

Poms home with 4 overs to spare.
Wow!
Masterclass in modern power hitting.

oooof! that’s the way to finish it. A win by 10 wickets and 4 overs to spare, that’s a hammering, I did not expect that.

I know I said our injuries could be an issue and I still stand by that but they are far less of an issue when you only need two batsmen.

So that seven match T20 series did have a purpose after all.

Your final opponents have lived by the “we just need two batters as long as they don’t get out” philosophy for 2 years now.

I think the world has long since given up on trying to fully understand the Pakistan cricketing philosophy. “mercurial” seems as good an adjective as any but they were excellent at times in that series, as were England. Hopefully at least one excellent team shows up on the day.

Here’s to an entertaining (if slightly less noisy) final. Lord knows what’ll transpire.

This was yesterday. After the Pak-NZ game.
The W’s for once had no rhythm.

PAKvENG
The best and deepest lineup versus the most ruthless bowling attack.

What an extraordinary batting performance by England. And quite the opposite of the way that sentence has more often been used over the last 40 years or so. I have never seen us make it look so straightforward.

If both teams can keep up this form for the final, it could be an absolute classic. Impossible to pick a winner.

India lost that game in the first ten overs. Their power play batting had been poor throughout the cup, and it’s come home to roost against a team who know how to leverage the first six overs.

Both semi finals one sided.

Channel 4 are going to show the final on free to air in the UK on Sunday, which is great news for cricket.

That is good news! I was hoping they would do this again, as they did for the final in 2019.

yay! I’ve been watching through “other means” so far but would much rather have it in 65" uhd glory.

Pakistan finish on 137/8. Even with big boundaries it’s hard to see that being enough, although as @AK84 has pointed out, Pakistan’s bowlers are very good.

And they are bowling well, a run a ball from here should be easy but it is anything but when the bowlers are moving it like this.

Naseem’s last over was incredible. Pulled it back from run a ball and created the wicket next over.

Would have been a thrilling ending if Afridi didn’t get injured. They were really choking England hard.

Yeah, feels that really swung the match.

England on the charge now, as they say. One more over of Afridi would have made things interesting!

two big overs changes things completely, should be England’s now, fascinating game for a low-scoring match. Both teams have turned up and the rain stayed away thankfully
