Way more information needed!

What operating system? Is it a dial-up, cable or a DSL connection? Are you going wireless? Do you have a router (or is that the Linksys product you referenced)? What did you change, other than rebooting the computer, to cause you to lose connectivity?

i am on wireless, and rebooting made the connection system get screwed.

Well, if you’re using a Linksys Router to share a DSL connection, for example, the router should be the one that has the IP, if you have a static IP, or the one that is set up to connect to your ISP so you shouldn’t need to configure anything. You should be able to simply turn everything on and then use the Internet Connection Wizard in Windows to set up the connection between the computer and the router. Since you’re not interested in providing any details about the problem you are having that’s about the best I can do with guessing. There really is no advantage for you to hold back information. Tell us everything you know or can guess about the problem and people will be happy to help. I don’t mean to sound harsh, but If you can’t be bothered to explain the problem, why should anyone bother to help?

What version of Windows are you running?

Are there other computers on the network and does one of them act as the gateway?

What have you tried to do and what happened when you tried it?

Are you getting error messages? What are they?

Have you read any of the Help pages at Linksys? Do you know how to get into the admin of the Router via a browser?

Do you feel the problem is with the Router or with Windows? Why?

**What version of Windows are you running?**windows XP

**Are there other computers on the network and does one of them act as the gateway?**no, the only other computer is the office computer to which the linksys router is attached to
**What have you tried to do and what happened when you tried it?**instert linksys card and run the pop-up setup from there. several times. several different ways
Are you getting error messages? What are they?no. just no internet connection

**Have you read any of the Help pages at Linksys? Do you know how to get into the admin of the Router via a browser?**not yet but i am about to go see what i can do with that

**Do you feel the problem is with the Router or with Windows? Why?**windows, because it is so freakin tricky!

So did you succesfully install the driver for the Linksys wireless card?

If you want to check, right-click on My Computer on the desktop, select Properties, go to the Hardware tab and then click on the Device Manager button. Any hardware items that are having problems with drivers will have an exclamation mark next to them.

Assuming that the Linksys card has the correct driver installed, do you know how the wireless router is configured? Do you need to specify the WEP key or the SSID?
