Are you sure about Raph and Leo? The only thing about Raph I remember is being jealous that Leo is the leader, which makes me think Slytherin, and Leo never hit me as a knowledge seeker.
Leo is always trying to learn more about every aspect of ninjutsu, and Raph didn’t want to be leader, he just didn’t like taking orders. He was always trying to show he was the bravest, leaping into situations without a second thought, and he wasn’t very cunning. Therefore, Gryffindor.

Yeah, while I love the books, they would have been so much better if the kids came from different houses, especially if they had to overcome some initial house rivalry/prejudice to become a team. The overwhelming elevation of Gryffindor and utter degradation of Slytherin were major flaws of the series.
It also would have been nice if each house had typical good and bad traits that were two sides of the same coin.
G: bravery / recklessness
H: hardworking & loyalty / stubbornness
S: ambition / elitism
R: cleverness / lack of empathy perhaps ?
I don’t know if Ron is all that hard working but like Xander, he’s loyal, fair, true, loving, and just which I think puts them both in Hufflepuff.
