I don’t believe in a god, but nonetheless I do have strong beliefs. One of those is protecting the lives and freedoms of all Americans. I believe so strongly in my bones that rights like freedom of speech and freedom of religion are worth fighting and dying for. And I would. ** However**, that freedom ends where it tries to limit the rights of other citizens.

So yes, by all means those with religiosity my practice their faith, but I’ll be damned if I’ll allow them to limit the rights of citizens because they’re homosexual with no more thought then pointing to a few sentences in a book from the Bronze Age. Because while I have no personal dog in the fight for gay rights, their desire for dignity is one of my deeply held beliefs.

Yes, they’re scientific theories. Which makes them just like the Trinity, somehow? Inflation in particular is very strongly supported by evidence. Dark matter and dark energy have been observed indirectly. They’re not just stuff people believe in. We don’t really know what they are (hence the name), but they’re things that have been observed.
