I still maintain that it’s just NOT QUITE HOT ENOUGH FOR ME.
“Izzithawtenuffforya?”
NO SIREE! sigh
Um, I’m 24 and in Scottsdale, AZ… the most livable city in the world so long as you’re only living in it from October through April. I’m an all purpose (entry level call center to high executive) trainer at a miraculously surviving dot com.
Umm, details, details. I keep a journal, and I believe that you should too. (or at least write in it more frequently coughlelcough)
Most of my outside of work time is spent watching DBacks games with my boyfriend, watching my son kick my ass at various video games, nuzzling up with my cats, or throwing things at my two roomate’s bedroom door to quiet down their girlsex love-a-thons at awkward hours of the night.
Nice to see more of the elders here. I’ll hit the big 5-0 in January!
Married for 20 years come December, almost-18-y/o daughter, 8 y/o border collie/lab mutt, 29 years of federal service (11 years of active duty in the Navy followed by 18 years as an aerospace structural engineer working for the Navy as a civilian.) Currently living in Florida, but moving to Maryland as soon as the kid graduates next May.
I sail for fun, I like to cook and putter about in my garden, and I spend entirely too many hours on these boards.
And a friendly suggestion here, Ladyrose - you don’t need to quote another person’s entire post to respond to them. You can edit the quote to address specific statements, but quoting long posts is considered bad form.
Nice to meet you too Jessity! I am not anti social, but not social either…LOL
That is why I am on the computer…faceless friends sometimes are the best ones.
Thanks for the intro and all, I wouldn’t mind some rain, we haven’t had any in over two months here, I am about to crack from the dryness. Glad to meetchya Mama Tiger !
I’m rinni, I’m 23 and female, and I type “hehe” and use the face a lot. I’ve been here for a couple of months, but I don’t post very much… I guess you could say I’m pretty much a lurker. I’m shy, even online, and I don’t like to argue.
I’m a student at university and I live with my parents. I also work at Wal-Mart as a cashier. We have a dog, a 15-year-old silky terrier named Mabel.
I like to draw on oekakis and in Photoshop, I’m not great, but it’s still fun. I drew the pic on my (future) webpage. I like to sing, play bass and play flute.

And welcome to our sandbox! **

Thanks FairyChatMom for the info and for the suggestion, it is noted!
Thanks for the welcome too dear, and yes, it is nice to know that there are other’s in the 50’s here too!
Well, I’m Lsura. I’m less than 2 months from 30, single, no kids and way too overly analytical. I live in the Southern US, and I can’t wait to get through the fall. I’m hoping to head back to New England in a year. Either that, or head West somewhere.
A year ago last August I left my corporate pigdog job, moved out of state and started grad school to be a librarian. I’ve got another year before I have to head back out into the REAL WORLD again.
I’m getting a kitten or a cat soon. It was going to be this week, but I’ve still got to check the budget a bit and make sure I can afford the initial vet visits. The way it’s looking, I may have to wait until the end of August (sigh).
I also occasionally decide to stalk glee around the boards, but I haven’t done that in a while. (ok, I really just want to see how long it’ll take him to do a vanity search and find this thread).
Oh, malkavia? You can take the 116 degree temperatures and keep them!
For the intro, I’m lel, I’m 23 and live in an oven (or Arizona – take your pick), and I like to spend all my time trying to find yet more message boards with which to occupy my waking hours. When not doing that, I like to read, go shopping, and think of really stupid puns. At the moment my line of work is typing receipts.
PS: A journal? What on earth could that be? :dubious:
I’m a 28-year-old Cancer. Grew up in west Michigan, went to Michigan State for a Bachelors and Masters in Advertising. Moved to Chicago, where I worked as an account planner in the Chicago office of a world-wide advertising agency.
Was laid off last spring, and decided this past November to get the third degree from Michigan State (PhD in Mass Media).
So…living at college now, waiting for classes to start up in the fall. Working three jobs (just for the summer), but still enjoying plenty of free time and feel very at home back in the halls of academia.
I’m Lorna, and I just graduated high school. I am heading off to Haverford College this fall, and I am really excited.
I have a dog, Honey, and I used to have fish but they all went to fishie heaven.
I just finished redoing my bathroom. It used to be ugly and covered in gross wallpaper, so I stripped it and painted it and now it is truly beautiful. I’m happy I finally got around to that.
I’ve been into the SDMB since the very beginning, when it was on AOL. When we moved here, it took me a while to register, but I’ve been around the boards since I was about 12.
Howdy, Ladyrose - impressive choice of user ID, beauty.
Well, I’m a 39 yr-old female (blonde) Texan - born and raised in Dallas. (Did someone mention heat earlier?) I’m a Corporate Controller, which is every bit as boring as it sounds.
I’ve two small boys to carry on when I’m gone…and three cats, one dog. Cherokee, Siam, Sheba, and Scarlett. My hubby is a firefighter for Dallas.
Welcome!
Greetings, LadyRose! You’re a cut above some of the newbies we get…they just stroll in, take a dump, then we have to call a mod…it gets messy…
I’m 36 in September, married with two children, living near Orlando. I’m a voracious reader, a self-taught knitter (I just learned increase and decrease and am about done with the washcloth knitted on the diagonal…yay me) I work in broadcasting, and Ivylad is disabled due to an on the job injury.
I like Star Trek, Trading Spaces, and Harry Potter. My folks are currently spending my inheritance by touring the USA in their RV :). Welcome to the boards…and don’t go into Great Debates unless you are Veee-hherry sure of your facts. And have them on hand.
Hi HerMajestyLorna, happy to meetchya too, nice to know something about you, I know I will like this forum, there are so nifty people here, that is for sure, thanks hun.
