In Thailand, it’s not hard to find pizza with corn, peas and/or carrots. Yuck! Especially at the local Narai chain.
Almost every pizza place (pr premade/frozen) I’ve ordered actually has a different version of Hawaiian pizza, so I’m not sure what we are calling it. Yeah, there’s pineapple but it seems everyone uses a different “ham” and sometimes a difference sauce or other veggies are standard. In general I like the kind that uses “canadian bacon” and doesn’t do anything weird with the sauce or add any spicy peppers or anything.
Nope. Pineapple tidbits is right up there with anchovies on my “does not belong on a pizza” list. My favorites are pep and black olives (they hold up better than mushrooms IMHO) and ham (or Canadian bacon) and fresh tomato (diced or slices, either way).
The latter (with the CB) was offered as the “Iditarod” at a local pizza house where I used to live. They later changed it to “Yukon” presumably because not enough people knew from Iditarod.
Pineapple is my favorite fruit.
Pizza is my favorite pizza.
But no.
I will eat it if it is the only option, but only then.
mmm
It’s all I ever order.
Bless this man.
I like it quite a bit. My Wife not so much. And half Pepperoni, green olive, artichoke hearts and onion (our go to pizza) / half Hawaiian is just kinda weird.
That makes no sense. The reason anchovies don’t belong on pizza is the same reason that drywall doesn’t belong on pizza: neither anchovies nor drywall are made out of food.
Pineapple doesn’t have that problem, and is delicious on pizza. Here, chez '99, we don’t get to order it because kaylsmom doesn’t do well with tomato sauce on pizza, and prefers a nice garlick-y Alfredo sauce (or facsimile thereof).
People who enjoy pineapple on pizza are hopelessly broken. I feel sorry for them and for all the pizzas they’ve ruined.
I like Hawaiian pizza…and I like anchovies, too.
(Have never actually tried both on the same pizza… Hm…)
Pineapple and anchovy is my favorite two-topping pizza – but since few people share my enthusiasm for it, I usually opt for the Hawaiian combo as part of a group, since that still misses it pretty close in the “salty and sweet” category.
That actually sounds fantastic to me. I don’t know why it’s never occurred to me.
Preach it, G0sp3l !! Nice user name/post combo.
Pineapple on pizza is an abomination unto the food gods. Tragically it is also the favorite pizza of Mrs Iggy and Iggyette, and as far as I can tell the entire paisa region of Colombia.
As to the passing of Sam Panopoulos, they should serve an appetizer at the wake that requires picking bits of it off and shoving it to the side of the saucer. It is how those who recognize the horror that is pineapple on pizza could honor him.
Fruit should not be warm.
Pineapple poisons pizza.
Do you also hate America and motherhood?
And yet he affected us all.
I still feel that way but am reconsidering my position. Apple pie, right? Game is often served with fruit-based sauces, and after that it’s just a stone’s throw to spam with pineapple.
Bananas Foster, too!
I remove the pineapple pieces and enjoy the sweet stuff left over.
Not my go-to flavor, but I enjoy it so “Yes”.
No. I like pineapple, but not on a pizza. Isn’t there something about that in Leviticus: Do not mix pineapple and pizza, for that is an abomination in the eyes of The Lord.
No … me no like pineapple on pizza … [grunt grunt] … caveman like meat …
