iPhone Question

I’ve had my iPhone 5 for a while and somehow it’s started not auto-correcting any “I” that I use. So, I’m having to manually capitalize them all within a sentence. Since it’s fewer than three letters, I can’t make a shortcut to compensate either and I’ve already done the factory restore once, all to no avail. Anyone have any other suggestions on what else to try next? It’s driving me nuts.

Nevermind…I read that it was auto correcting capital I to lowercase I. Not the other way. Not sure how to fix that.

Yeah, it just won’t ever capitalize it anymore at all. My first world problem. :frowning: I have to do it myself.

I just tried this. I’m hoping it works. Thank you.

Nope. Dammit.

Are Auto-Capitalization and Auto-Correct enabled? Settings>General>Keyboard

If still not working, try a hard boot: hold down the Home key and the On/Off button together until the unit is completely off, then wait a few minutes and restart.

Absolutely bizarre. It was on, so I turned it off and did a hard shut down. Tested it and no auto-capitalization at all. Then I changed it and repeated the process. It will now capitalize the first I in a sentence after the first word, but then won’t do it anymore. I’m so frustrated.

Thank you for your help though.

One more thing to try! If you have a computer, hook the iPhone up to it with the cable. From iTunes, select your iPhone and click Restore. This will wipe the phone and reinstall the OS. You can sync it to add your apps back in. If this doesn’t work, I got nothin’, but I will ask my daughter about it. She is a CSR for ATT mobile, and is crazy good with iPhones! She usually comes to my house for lunch on Tuesdays. Please let me know!

Sadly, that didn’t work either. :frowning: Any other help your daughter can give would be appreciated. But no matter what, I thank you for taking the time to try and help me figure this out. If all else fails, I can always take it to the Apple store and pick their brain too.

That might be your best bet anyway, if you live near one! Sorry that we couldn’t solve it here.
