iPhoto problem.

Until recently, I used Entourage as a part of Office for Mac 2008. Now, I use the new Office for Mac 2011. Finally, Entourage has been replaced with Outlook for Mac. Wonderful !!

Downside is that now I cannot email photos from within iPhoto. The icon for Entourage is still there, and when looking at Preferences, I can pick Mail ( Apple Mail ) or Entourage as the package to embed photos into. No where can I find a way to make the new Outlook 2011 the default email package to be used.

It’s a real problem. I shoot larger files when shooting photos, yet with the iPhoto software I can email quite a few images at lower file size for people to use for work, etc.

Anyone found a way to tell iPhoto that the new Outlook software is a reasonable choice?

I’m using Mac OSX- 10.5.8

iPhoto Ver: 7.1.5 ( copyright date 2008. Hmm… )

Thoughts? Using Photoshop or some other software to reduce file size is awfully time-consumptive. I don’t want to pay for Stuffit® software when iPhoto worked great till now.

Any reason you can’t use Mail when you want to send photos? If you use Mail.app it can automatically resize photos into set categories (small, medium, large, or actual).

I don’t use Mail for anything else. Would rather find a way to make Outlook work. I suspect if I get a licensed copy of iWorks 2011 from my employer, the new iPhoto release embedded in it will play nicely with Outlook for Mac 2011…

iLife, not iWork, is what you want for iPhoto. iWork is Pages, Keynote and Numbers.
