Ipod and Audiobooks

To keep it simple:

Is there any way to put audiobooks on a 4th generation iPod and NOT have them appear also in the music library (only in the audiobook section)? I’d prefer not jump from Petey Pablo to Dickens during random shuffle. Thanks

Plenty of information on this at http://www.ipodlounge.com/index.php

But basically you convert the files to ACC, then manually change the extension to '.m4b ’ (with a space at the end) and the files will be treated as audiobooks. They will show up in the ‘Audiobooks’ menu on the main screen and be bookmarkable. Be sure to convert the files in stereo as the 4G iPod has a bug that causes problems with .m4b mono files. They will still appear in your library with the Author in the Artist List, but they will not be played in the main menu shuffle option.

Another option would be to make a smart playlist with the condition ‘Genere is not Audiobooks’
