ipod touch versus ipod classic - sound quality.

I have a 32gb ipod touch 2nd generation. I like it but for the fact that it is woefully lacking in space for all my music. I have about 80gb of music.

I was thinking of selling the 32gb and getting a 64gb ipod touch. But now I am thinking of keeping the touch for wifi, apps, internet, email, youtube, bbc iplayer etc… and getting a 160gb ipod classic just for music. Much cheaper option.

I need to know some important things first…

Can I pair both devices to one installation of itunes and one itunes account?

Can I put all the music in my itunes on the classic even if it has previously been on the touch? (well some of it)

How does the sound quality compare between the two?

Yes, you can sync your iTunes music collection between any number of iPods, iPhones, and presumably iPads. If there’s a limit, it’s at least 6 based on personal experience. There’s a limit to how many computers can share (5), but that’s separate.

I have owned several iPods over the years, and have not noticed any difference in sound quality between any of them – I suspect the actual sound-generation circuitry in them is probably pretty much the same. The headphones/earbuds/speakers you use with it, however, will make a huge difference.
