I’m looking for programs to convert my movie collection on my computer to a format which my iPod likes. I’ve been using PSPVideo9, but it outputs the file into a horrible alphanumeric mess, which I then have to clean up. The reviews on the things I found at download.com are terrible, which means that I come to the SDMB!
My only criteria are:
Make the movie play on my iPod!
I want to be able to have a queue to be processed!
Keep the original file name, dammit!
That’s it.
You can try Videora iPod Coverter. It does the three things on your list.
Apparently the OP is a Windows user, FWIW…iSquint does a similar thing for Mac users (there are other programs as well, this one is free and seems to work well)
I’ve been using Handbrake with pretty good results. Oddly, I do occasionally have to use the Convert file option in ITunes after I rip them with handbrake.

Aha! The PSP converter thing I was using (it was featured in PopSci) was a Videora product… just… not the one designed for iPods.
Thanks guys.
