*Astroboy stands amidst the clutter and ruin of this Iron Chef thread… he sighs, raises his eyes, and says, “So, what about it Java? You gonna marry me or what?”
Sure, what the heck. I’ll marry you. But, you gotta keep Astrofiancee around… we’ll need someone to do the dishes.
Kitchen Stadium is quiet and dark, except for a few stagelights highlighting dirty pots and greasy cutting boards.
A faint glitter catches my eye across the room.
Chairman Fenris’ jacket lies draped across a chair, lifeless without its charming wearer. A tear falls down my cheek. I wipe it away, and with a small grin, I pick it up. Surprisingly heavy, I think to myself, but for all the spangles and rhinestones, of course…
I try it on. A little big about the shoulders, and rather long. I remember my sewing machine back home, and smile. Jacket folded over my arm, I glance back at Kitchen Stadium one last time, and make my exit.
I’m sorry I missed the judgin for the chili battle.
Congrats to javamaven, and Tornado Siren on a truly excellent battle.
BTW: TOnight’s Iron Chef battle featured a Somelier vs. Iron Chef Kobe.
The Somelier chose wines to represent each of the judges. For Chairman Kaga he chose a nice red, and described it as matching Kaga perfectly. It was “both very fruity, and somewhat bitter.”
I almost fell out of my chair. And, the look on Kaga’s face was priceless.
