Women with six-packs don’t usually have boobs unless said boobs are artificial. So, no.
The ideal female physique is someone who does enough exercise that the muscles are developed, but with normal levels of body fat so that she has a characteristically female figure. I am intimately familiar with someone like that - she can do more sit-ups than me, so her abs are highly toned, but she has no need for implants.
She’s got an ass like velvet-covered rock and blue eyes to die for, too, but I digress.
In my personal experience, I have found that the more fit a person is, the more fit he/she wants his/her partner to be. Since I’ve been on a regular strength training regimen for about eight years now, a man who doesn’t work hard to look good and be healthy is a turn-off to me. But before I began strength training regularly, abs were much less important to me.
Also, just want to mention that I actually find six-packs more attractive on women than men, on average. I think a man with a six pack looks good only if his other muscles are well-developed as well. (By well-developed I not only mean well-defined, I also mean big.) Too often, I have seen small men try to get even smaller in order to have that coveted six pack, and I think men with a flabby stomach but big muscles is much more attractive than a skinny guy with a six-pack.
If I have a choice between a woman with six pack abs and one with an extra hundred pounds, I’m going for the latter. Not only do women with six pack abs look (at best) like effeminate boys, they’re trying too hard. Neither characteristic is appealing to me.
My online studies have revealed that it is quite difficult for a guy to be big and ripped at the same time. Either a guy has to be pretty big and then cut weight (this is what pros bodybuilders do), or he has to fine-tune his diet year-round. In either case, performance-enhancing drugs of some type are usually used by pros (bodybuilders or models).
The end result is that there are incredibly unrealistic body images out there for both men and women.
Yeah, I wanted to keep the poll options at a reasonable number. I was going to do gay/straight for men/women too, but that already made it pretty long.
I’m surprised at the number of men who are saying that a six-pack on a chick is attractive. Although I tried to make it clear by specifying “visible ab cuts,” perhaps some people are just taking “six-pack” to mean “flat and lean.” Seeing a six-pack on a woman on the beach is pretty uncommon. It really does take some serious bodybuilding to get there.
Exactly. As a guy, I’m trying to achieve a body that looks impressive but not as though I’m fretting in the gym for hours a day. I’m trying to avoid the “trying too hard” look.
Though I love a good interrobang in a thread title.
Could be, but I’m not trying to steer this any particular way. I already know that a lot of guys prefer ultra-skinny women, and that’s not my thing, so wide disagreement with my “type” is a forgone conclusion.
But most guys are going to see true six-packs on women only in photographs, or maybe in real life if they hang out with hard-core Crossfitters and bodybuilding women. I just wanted to get an accurate result.
