Straight men & gay women: are hard-bodied or soft-bodied women more beautiful in your eyes?

Please note that I wrote “in your eyes.” Ignore whether the woman in question is smart or dumb, funny or stoic, conservative or liberal. Hell, even Welshwomen may be discussed. The only question here is your superficial assessment of a woman’s beauty based on whether she works out to such an extent to have six-pack abs, sharply defined guns, and so forth, or does not.

I also did not accidentally leave out the question of whether men are more attractive if they are cut or not. Why? Because that’s not what I am wondering about, that’s why.

To reiterate the thread question: Straight men & gay women: are you more likely to be superficially attracted to a woman – to enjoy seeing her naked, in vulgar terms – if she has a soft body or a hard body?

Poll in a moment.

Man here: I prefer not only a soft body, but a nice, voluptuous body. Skinny women do nothing for me, hard women look like men with boobs. Not my thing at all.

I appreciate fitness, but prefer it under natural curves. Women who by genetics or excess exercise have an abnormally low amount of body fat are not appealing to me.

Postulated: men who prefer a woman with a lean, hard body are secretly gay.

Straight man here: I feel that six-pack abs are about as attractive on a woman as a mustache. My brain just refuses to see that as a feminine trait. (And I’m not even sure I see a six-pack on a man as a positive thing, but it is at least a masculine and non-negative thing on a man.)

Even if we’re not talking six-pack abs, I’ve always felt that a woman’s stomach is not meant to be flat. Most bikini/underwear models could do with an extra ten or twenty pounds (at least) to round out the hips and the belly.

Something tells me we ought to define, or at least provide examples of soft vs. hardbodied before the arguing starts.

That said, I’m pretty catholic in my interest- I dig quite a few of the women in the ESPN “Body” issue, as well as fitness competitors. But I also find a lot of “chubby” women attractive as well.

I assume by hard-bodied you’re not talking specifically female body-builders, but just muscular. I’ve seen some female athletes with pretty decent guns ( tennis, but particularly basketball ) I’ve thought attractive and I can think of a ton of attractive “soft” women. So I guess I’m pretty equal opportunity on the issue.

I’ll link to an example of a hard-bodied woman, spoiler-boxing it 'cause it’s not work safe. It’s from DeviantArt, if you care.

You can go too far in any direction - fat, skeletal or over-muscled, but between those extremes, I like both.

I am more interested in whether she closes her mouth when she eats lunch.

carnivorousplant: huge happy grin!

For my part, I would prefer someone particularly fit and strong. I’d be happier with an athletic lover, if all else were equal. Muscles are good.

(Of course, this wouldn’t be at all fair, as I’m not particularly fit or muscular. Sigh. A bloke can dream, can’t he?)

“I’m a straight women, and I object to being left out of this poll.”

That is all.

Straight guy. I prefer my women fit. Not Schwarzenegger huge, but fit. A little softness is good, but all soft is so not appealing, especially if they’re thin to not-overweight size. I need some muscle underneath the squish or it doesn’t do as much for me.

Then why is your teleport pad still on?

Duh! I’m still waiting for caramel cake.

Bisexual, and therefore erased as usual, but there’s room in my bed for both.

Can we have a dark chocolate cake with a salted caramel frosting? It’s my birthday.

StG

How are you “erased”? If you’re a woman, vote as a gay woman. If you’re a man, vote as a straight man.
God, it’s like you people want me to be fair or something.

So your protest WASN’T all, then.

:: sends over cake & latte ::

Happy Birthday, StG! Yes, chocolate cake with salted caramel frosting!! Me WANT!!!

I prefer well-muscled women.
I don’t like the skinny, anorexic, “model” look.

I like women athletes, and yes, women bodybuilders.

Salted caramel frosting is for women and Canadians.
