Because I sure am. There’s so much to like. First you can get some good recipe ideas (along with some tips) And then the characters you meet on these videos make for great entertainment.
Here’s one of Clemenza about to keel over making Sunday gravy
Here’s one of a former porn star teaching us how to make steak sauce she doesn’t like. Probably don’t want to watch that at work.
Here’s another one that makes me smile. I’m not sure why, I think it’s the vest.
I’m subscribed to a channel called Cooking With Dog. They make Japanese food; the videos are Japanese audio with English subtitles. The “host” of the show is a gray poodle named Francis who sits next to a Japanese woman who does all the cooking and some of the talking. The dog’s “voice” is a heavily-Japanese-accented Japanese man’s.
It’s charming, and although most of the recipes are beyond the American mainstream, I really like watching the cooking and seeing all the Japanese kitchen gadgets.
I’ve used youtube cooking videos to learn how to make some esoteric stuff, like Persian kefta meatballs and ricotta cheese. It’s very helpful to watch how they do it.
My favorite series is Henry’s Kitchen:
How to Make Killer Oven Baked French Toast
How to Make Henry’s Anytime Chili for One
…and lots more in the same vein.
Wowza! I had NO IDEA “Cooking With Dog” existed! I am now a subscriber, and will watch a few episodes with my multiple tamagotchis by my side … I love Japanese cooking but have always hesitated to try it myself.
Miso soup, here I come
That was both depressing and hilarious at the same time.
I’m a fan of My Drunk Kitchen. Usually funny and occasionally results in edible food.
