Me either. Define “trouble”.
I type in http://www.straightdope.com/ into my Firefox address bar and it doesn’t load–it just gives me the ‘busy’ signal for a few seconds before stopping.
It works in Internet Explorer, though…
I occasionally have trouble getting in, and I sometimes get crowded out. When it happens, it is usually when folks in the eastern US time zone, and an hour later when the central time zone, break for lunch. Working people, during their lunch breaks, jam the “front doors” of the SD Front Page and the SDMB. It’s like walking into McRonald’s at 12:05. Your time-out function will ding you before you can order your General Questions Value Meal.
Either try again until you get in, or find a back way in. If you can’t get in the Front Page, you can go to the SDMB, Comment On Cecil and find a link, or, if it’s the other way 'round, go to the Front Page, click on Comment On to get to the MB. Once you get there, don’t click Back. Scroll to the top and click on SDMB, or scroll to the bottom and click on Forum Jump.
The same crowding happens at 3:30 pm ET and CT, and at 5:00 pm, both time zones. To a lesser degree, there’s extra traffic at certain times in 2nd and 3rd shifts. Then there’s the UK Dopers and the Ozzies and EnZedders. We have people in south and east Asia, but not enough to create much of a lump. We treasure them, just the same.
