You know, I’m a Democrat, but those people were crazy! That teenage son of theirs exemplified everything bad on the liberal side of things.
Although the conservative family had a very militaristic parenting style, they weren’t all out crazy (like the mom from Texas against the lesbian episode…was that even this show?).
Wow. Crazy. I’m still watching- 30 more minutes.
And the kid said he wont salute the flag because he believes it shouldn’t exist…what? There are plenty of reasons not to salute, that’s a pretty odd one.
I have never seen this show before, but it came on when I was rewinding the movie I’d watched.
Jeez freakin’ louise.
I only watched half – turned it off right around the time the fascist mom was out protesting the war. I was truly impressed that she came up with something to yell/put on her sign that was in line with her values and with the “point” (whatever the point was) of the ordeal.
I watched it.
The kid in the liberal house was really obnoxious, but I like that the mom tried to talk to him about coming across rude to people. The conservative mom got on my nerves a little with the Jesus talk, but she seemed to adapt well. I just wish they were able to have a more give-and-take conversation rather than him talking over her and her refusing to see something from his side. I got the feeling though that her husband doesn’t like her in a romantic way anymore and just liked being waited on hand and foot.
I felt bad for the liberal mom who got a less than stellar reaction when she held her peace meeting, but where she went (Kentucky, I think) she should have known. I was expecting more fire from the people she was talking to. Maybe she should have directed her energy more towards setting up recycling or volunteer work from the family rather than spending so much time trying to have conversations with people who didn’t want it.
I think they just picked two very radical families (like most of their episodes) and just proved there are crazies on both sides. Very good episode regardless.
