Well, I got one spam email that may or may not be related to this. It was apparently an out-of-office auto-responder from “ICQ-All Rights Reserved.” When I checked the email address it had come from, it was a bcgas.com address. Stranger and stranger. I just deleted it.
No, I did not email either BC Gas or ICQ about anything at all. Even if I had, why would they be related?
I have been looking up klez info and stumbled upon this link in which the maintainers of a Steely Dan newsletter explain that somebody who has their auto sub address and your addy on their computer and is infected may well send your addy to auto subscibe and voila, you start getting mail. I know klez is now estimated to have hit over 7% of all PCs
