Is anyone really wearing this?

I’ve purchased items from International Male in the past, and have been pleased with the quality of the items.

Maybe I’m behind the times, but some of the things I’ve seen in their recent catalogs strike me as really weird.
I’m truely not trying to offend anyones sense of taste, but this looks to me like something right out of The Music Man.

Is this representative of modern fashion? Is anyone really wearing this?
I mean besides used car salesmen and carnival barkers.

The yellow and blue one looks horrible, but the one on the right is halfway decent.

I wouldn’t wear either though. I prefer dark solid neutral colors.

I dislike both, but that gold & blue one is ridiculous.
Where would a guy wear such an outfit? Certainly not a wedding or funeral or business meeting.

Hahahahaha, Thanks for the laugh, pkbites

I looked at those suits and all I could think of was “Ice Cream Pimp”…

AHHH!!! MY EYES, MY EYES THEY BURN THEY BURN…

It burns when I pee now…

they could certainly wear it to the Bloomsday celebrations in Dublin, which happen to be today!

A beach riot. In Brighton. In the early 1960s.

I can think of few excuses in this century not involving musical theater.

How dare you sully The Music Man like that. Now go listen to 76 Trombones until you come to your senses.

Geez, thats a hard sell…

but for some odd reason I actually like it. No way in hell I could pull it off though…

actually, I know what I like it.

The reason it looks horrible is because of the symmetry. If they tweaked the color scheme slightly on one side and slightly tweaked the direction/shade of a stripe or two on the other side it could look quite modern/edgy.

the color schemes still a hard sell though…

Creflo Dollar could pull those off. I think that is how he makes believers, he dazzles and hypnotises them with his suits

Man, for as long as I can remember, that catalog has been an object of ridicule. I’m glad you’ve been happy in the past, but get out. Get out now.

This wouldn’t be appropriate in Times Square Mark I or II.

Next, look at this picture and yell “Squawk!” It’s kind of fun.

No fur, elegant or not.

But the leather trenchcoat? My heart is going pitter patter, I’m freakin twitterpated!

Oh, come on. Those striped suits are perfect for a young man to wear on an afternoon spent boating on the lake.
In 1885.

Doesn’t Matthew Broderick, who starred in a production of The Music Man even, wear stuff like that? I swear I’ve seen pics of him and SJP that immediately made me think of the Good Humor man.

Close, but not nearly as bad

Browsing through the International Male site (some of the stuff does look pretty sharp, but the rest…comedy gold!), I see they also have this similar ensemble. It’s the lavender shoes that really complete the look. And of course “Every well-dressed man needs a summer suit such as this one”…provided he lives in Candyland. And is somehow employed in the sex trade industry.

At least this little number would make you look like a Bond villain, so that’s kinda cool.

Tony Randall could have worn that suit and gotten away with it.

Second that… Those trenchcoats are just…

yum.

[British accent]Sorry about your loss![/BA]
