Do I have to spell this out for you? The word “reluctant” is used sarcastically, indicating that manipulation on the mom’s/psychologist’s part, rather than legitimate reluctance, are to blame for the lengths they presumably had to go to in order to get the girl to say such a ridiculous thing.
Actually, ‘reluctantly’ is the word she used in her ‘statement of facts’, to support her order to show cause that kicked all this off.
I like when you get indignant about stuff (which is basically every time you ever post, ever) because it makes it that much funnier when you’re wrong.
ETA: not that I’m right, but still…
I don’t mind being funny. My reputation precedes me as a quickly tempered poster, sure, but also as one who won’t hesitate to confess his ignorance and apologize when shown to be wrong, rather than trying to turn it into a backhanded compliment against another poster. My own dignity is a sufficient prize, and I don’t have anything to prove. If other Dopers are amused, hey, that’s a nice little bonus, right?
