Is cow's milk "the worst beverage on earth?"

So you’re ragging on me for enjoying skim milk, while you sit at home forcing down soy milk, which even you admit is disgusting. Mmm-kay.

??? This is posted right after my post, so perhaps it refers to me, but obviously the quote I gave is from the report I linked to.

A little more context, s’il vous plait?

The worst beverage on earth is by far Vanilla Coke…with Dr Pepper not far behind.

Wtf is the point of messing up the most sucessfull drink of all time by adding ice-cream flavor?

In my oppinion, it tastes like shit…

If milk is so bad for you, why are you drinking an imitation of it? You shouldn’t be drinking anything even remotely in the same category. Why don’t you stick to juices, water, and even alcohol. Milk is so horrible that someone who drinks a quart of vodka a day must be in better shape than someone who drinks a quart of milk.

“Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.”

Soymilk may be a white liquid, but it is the pressed squeezings of a plant mixed with water. It has as much, if not far more, in common with the juices you mention than with milk. What kind of logic is “if it looks alike it must be the same thing”?

As for the rest of your post…

You know, a couple of years ago PETA tried a campaign saying that college students should drink beer because milk was so bad. They immediately got slammed by everybody in sight (including me, publicly) and pulled the campaign within days of posting it.

Alcohol is a drug. Milk is not. Saying, even sarcastically, that vodka drinkers could in any way be healthier than milk drinkers is ignorant and irresponsible.

My grandfather once got me chocolate soy milk. Tasted nasty when you followed the directions. However when you mixed in milk instead of water it tasted great. Clearly soy drinks can taste good if you know how to prepare them right.

Albeit the logic was pretty bad, but comon get a sense of humor. The poster was hardly being irresponsible and considering the way in which the statement was phrased I don’t belive ignorant either.

I have never (that I can recall) liked milk. I use it for cooking, but that is about all. I buy it by the quart, and wind up pouring most of it down the drain. Now veal on the other hand…YUMMMMMY!!

“Soy milk” is only milk in the sense that it consists of emusified fat in water.

As for soy beans, they are not high on the list of things that are good for you. Half the calories are from fat, and a fair amount of that fat is saturated. Concentrating the fat and emulsifying it in water does not produce a beverage that is good for you.

On the other hand, there are many beans that contain no fat and really are good for you. Even the modest red bean is good for you. But the Indians have the best knowledge of beans on the planet.

So the moral of the story is: never say “You don’t know beans” to an Indian.
