In the first quote I was pointing out why American Airlines (In their racist mindset) do not have direct routes to Africa.
In the second quote I am pointing out my concern at how the US has a problem it seems to me whenever a non-western country develops nuclear weapons.
Both of these quotes although controversial do not sound regressive to me, in fact they’re quite progressive.
letting North Korea have nukes isn’t progressive, it’s crazy. the African comment could have been better phrased as “it is not profitable to fly directly to Africa” it sounds mean this way, especially since the next post states that South African Airlines made $100 million last year

The Africa comment I see how you could say that, it wasn’t meant that way. As for the other comment I think that it is regressive to think that the US can let another country have nuclear weapons.
Why invoke racism when pragmatism will suffice? Despite SAA’s profits, flying to Africa, in a time when even US and European routes are moneylosers, is not a smart decision for many non-African airlines.
Um, when the non-western countries under discussion are Iraq and North Korea, you damn betcha we have a problem. Letting two ruthless despots have access to the most devastating weapons humanity has created is not progressive, it’s fuckin’ insane.
Well, I read the article you linked to, and the only conclusion I drew was that poverty is a bad thing. It sounds like a safe assumption that these young thugs had no money, education, or prospects of a better life. Most kids who do have something to hope for don’t do that sort of thing.
One could argue that diversity (in educational institutions, in neighborhoods, in the people kids grow up associating with) is the solution to the problem, not the cause of it.
i think it is regressive to let a country run by a dictator that kidnaps actors to make movies for him and has a wild famine to create weapons they can sell on the black market to crazy fanatics that would give their impoverished country a cash infusion.
White Brits have done similar things in the recent past, too. I think we can conclude that assholes come in all colours.
