Is Hillary wearing a Bullet-proof vest?

For some reason that looks much better on a 75lb waif.

Even Ronald Reagan took criticism when he introduced his California look, with beige suits and other less formal wear.

Yeah, if it’s not charcoal grey or navy blue suit people do raise eyebrows at male executives’ outfits.

Nothing like for the women, though. Like someone mentioned earlier, there is an expectation of fashionability that can be really annoying.

#TanSuitGate

We will never forget…

Right, I’d expect that most of what Clinton and Obama wear in public has at least one layer of bullet protection, considering how crazy people talk about them. Possibly Trump too, since there could be someone super right wing who thinks he’s not far enough, or a follower could become disillusioned.

Left wingers own guns, too.

Men don’t* have *style choices. They wear suits (expensive, but never flashy) and ties and a little American flag pin.

Even within the limitations of men’s business dress, a Presidential candidate dare not stray too far. Flashy, showy suits are out. Anything TOO expensive-looking, like the stuff Harvey Spector wears in “Suits,” is also out. The casual look, as noted, is out. Barack Obama has been President for seven and a half years and for all I can tell he might have been cycling through the same three dark suits the entire time.

…and one tan one.

I don’t hold Hillary’s outfits against her, but I do wonder why she doesn’t wear the pants-equivalent of the outfits that Flyer links to above. Not all 70 year old women can pull off a skirt (wait, that came out wrong…); but I don’t know why she insists on wearing shapeless, unflattering tops. It just seems… out of uniform. There are plenty of other women politicians who wear normal, conservative pantsuits:

No, it’s not a bullet proof vest, its a concealed radio so she can cheat during the debates.

(One of the stupider controversies about Bush, based on a wrinkle in the back of his suit in one photograph.)

I think you meant that she is unusually good at doing that.

Considering how long Mrs. Clinton has been in politics, I am certain her wardrobe is as carefully scripted as her speeches. She has heard all the comments, pro and con, more times than any of us. She looks bad in a given outfit-I consider it certain that it is deliberate. She looks good in a certain outfit-same. She, and all successful politicians, dress for the role. As an example of how clothes are part of a role, look at Michelle Obama. Everyone oohs and ahhs over her wardrobe-it is part of the role of first lady. We certainly don’t have an extremely popular exhibit at the Smithsonian for the President’s inaugural suits. Being fashionable is part of the role of first lady. Being fashionable is not part of the presidential role. If Mrs. Clinton always wore fashionable outfits that got great reviews from the Hollywood reporter, she wouldn’t be dressing for the role. I am certain her advisors are skilled at avoiding that mistake. I am sure there are PR folks on her staff skilled in this subject, and she has more experience than almost anyone on how to dress for the role of female national politician.

Then I just can’t wait to see what Bill gets up to! I’m really hoping for shorts, Hawaiians, maybe some Huarache sandals, timepiece by Swatch…

And they all have the same slim body type.

Incorrect.

True. There are bullet resistant vests which look just like regular clothes.

For instance. Or here.. One more example.

It’s a rule that bad guys have to aim for the vest. Cite.

Obama has received criticism for wearing “mom jeans”.

NO, not the “slob look.” Something STYLISH, like a good First Lady.

Please step over here, Mr. Clinton, and have a look at our new line in summer suits…They’re fresh, they’re breezy, they’re NEW!

(Scroll down at least to “The Summer Suit: RED!” They get more and more hilarious as you go.)

Oh. My. GOD!

Is that a comedy site?

I thought the sans-a-belt guy with no socks was bad until I got to the shorts! The red suit has nuttin’ on those. Do people actually wear that? In public? Not during Mardi Gras?
