Sigh, is this some kids home from classes for the holidays thing, or am I just weary?
It seems like this happens every so often. Circle of life, or something like that. It makes us all stronger as a species.
You’re just weary.
On any given week we may have a higher percentage of weird threads (or race threads or politics threads or Evil-ution threads or “bad music” threads), but none of these are new and all will cycle out and cycle in. We do tend to get freshets of youngsters just after the Christmas-I-got-a-computer-let’s-surrf-the-Net season and when school lets out (causing some youngsters to get bored and troll) or college starts (when many kids get their first unsupervised computer access), but those are just the result of demographics and theyare still cyclical–nothing new there.
(And with the younger poster cycles, we also pick up lots of new, fresh blood with expanding world views and an interest in good discussion, but the freaks are more memorable.)
It’s not just you. There are other freaks besides.
Not to mention the two naked priests in the sauna :eek:

Also a 14 year old hanging around in the Pit isn’t really a great idea IMHO.
Sorry, let me clarify here. Your behavior was quite mature here. Also, I read your apology and found it to be above and beyond what was needed (although, obviously, IANAM). It seems to me that you were properly using the Pit for its intended purpose.
