is it possible to copy ipad files to another player?

I have downloaded several podcasts on my ipad that I would love to listen to on my Sansa media player.
Is this possible?
Apple does not seem to want me to move these files outside of apple world.
Would they even play?
What if I jailbroke my ipad?

PC or Mac? Do you want to pay for convenience or are you OK doing a minimal amount of work?

Depending on your answers, we’ll know what google search terms to use.

(I have a Mac, and usually use iPhone Explorer for things. There’s a paid app whose name escapes me that I downloaded a free trial of once, that has a one-click way to do it, but the software didn’t do something else I wanted easily, so I didn’t end up buying it.)

Umm, they’re podcasts. Why don’t you just using podcasting software on your computer and have it load the podcasts on your Sansa player? Podcasting is not an Apple thing in any way.

I remember people having to ask Ed for the URLs to his podcasts, even though he’d released them on iTunes. Thus, it might not be that easy to get the podcast URL.

I haven’t used iTunes in a while. Do any of you know how to get the URL out so the OP can open it in another podcast player?

Podcasts you downloaded on your iPad will sync back to iTunes on your computer. All you need to do is drag them from your iTunes library folder to your Sansa player. You can find them by right clicking on the episode in iTunes and selecting Reveal in Finder or Show in Windows Explorer depending on your OS.

I wil try this. Thanks.
I did try copy and paste but that didn’t work.
Also, my Sansa media player does not show up as a device in itunes.

I am working through a PC by the way.

Also, I know that I could probably search out the podcasts through other means but I was just looking for an easier way.

Oh! I didn’t know that you were working on the same computer that you had the iPad synced to. :o

Your other music player won’t show up in iTunes; what Doug K. is suggesting is to use iTunes to find the file path for your podcasts, then you can just drag ‘n’ drop through Windows Explorer.
