Is it possible to save webcam videos from Yahoo! IM?

My friend will sometimes put her baby on the webcam and show me her attempts to crawl. Is there a way I can save these? We’re using Yahoo IM.

Why can’t they merely zip the videos and send them to you in Yahoo mail?

I doubt she knows how to do that. That’s why I thought I’d save some on my end. We have some short ones from cell phone videos, but I thought it would be nice to get some of the longer ones. The baby will get so close to crawling, but then she flops over.

I believe you can use some sort of generic screen-capturing software like HyperCam (shareware) or perhaps CamStudio (free, open-source, never used it).

There might also be similar programs tailored for Yahoo! specifically if you google around a bit.
