“Minor”???
We never were - I never was, anyway - talking about minor pain and suffering, or about the short term. What we were talking about was a day-in, day-out, * way of life*. And - there were those arguing that that way of life is inescapable, and what’s more, some kind of moral obligation.
Only now do you say it’s minor, or short-term. Why not before?
