Is it wrong to take my wedding song from a beer commercial

I am getting married in a couple of months. While watching TV, I saw a Sam Adams commercial playing a song with a great hook. I looked it up on Youtube: Tim McMorris - Overwhelmed (Official Video) - YouTube

That song says everything I want to say to my soon to be bride. I think it actually puts into words how I feel about her, and that song really moves me. The guy isn’t the greatest singer at all, but the lyrics talk to me and describe exactly how I feel for her.

Is it bad to use a song I heard on a beer commercial as the song to use for our first dance?

Doesn’t look like it started as a beer commercial, and I think it’s great!! Definitely use it

Oh, and congratulations!! I really do like this song, and think it’s perfect

Hell, if you want to make it even more personal, gather little bits of video and pictures of her and you, and have that playing on a screen in the background while you’re dancing.
Sam Adams optional.

Well cool.

And I like your idea of the projection screen. May be tough since it is damn hard to get a picture of her, but I’ll see what I can do.

Thanks for the feedback.

“Here comes the king…”

Works for me. The little lady might have a problem with it, though.

“Here’s to good friends, tonight is kind of special…” Works fr me!

It’s not 99 Bottles of Beer is it?

“Gennesee-ing is believing!”

I think it’s a charming song, and a video playing that’s something like the video at the link would be nice.

I chose an Adam Sandler song. Half the guests laughed uncontrollably, the other half laughed uncomfortably.

Can I say that I really kinda sorta hate you right now?

I’ve had this song stuck in my head for the last 20 minutes; I’m even singing it out loud, gah! AND I HATE BEER!!! :p:p

Bwaa ha ha! My sinister plan to identify people who watched too much TV in the 70s is bearing fruit.

Sorry. :frowning:

“Liar!! LIIIII-AARRRR!!!” :p:p

People might prefer to focus on the two of you, rather than just images.

Lovely song.

We chose je taime moi non plus which included some loud sighing and moaning. It caused a lot of nervous laughter and giggles so I’d say yours was a middle-road choice.

You could ask her?

She’s really into planning this wedding thing and wants us to surprise each other with the song we each choose. I just really want this to be done already. I know it means a lot to her so I don’t mind doing these things, but it is exhausting and I’m ready to be married already.
