Is Kevin Trudeau full of it?

I was wondering what you guys had to say about Kevin Trudeau and his book “Natural Cures They Don’t Want You To Know About”? Do you think it’s a good resourse or just another one of those scams to get money? Do you think he’s presenting old information already known in alternative medicine just to make a quick buck? He says it’s not about money and I know for a fact that some of the things he promotes DO work (apple cider vinegar and digestive enzymes for acid reflux).

Considering he’s been shut down in the past by the FTC for fraudulent claims, I wouldn’t trust anything he’s saying.

Probably a few of his cures do work (but no one is keeping the information secret), and I doubt he stupid enough to put in anything actually harmful. But he’s definitely in it for the quick buck.

A popular subject around here:

Kevin Trudeau. Is he for REAL?

Natural Cures They Don’t Want You To Know About

Why can’t “truth in advertising” shut down quacks?

Having scanned the book and knowing what I do about Trudeau (the links already provided are a good starting point), I would say what I think about him, except this isn’t the Pit. Suffice it to say, any comparison between him and pond scum gives pond scum everywhere a bad name.

Actually, from what I’ve heard, he’s got some stuff in there that could easily be considered harmful, IMHO. Things like herbs that supposedly cure cancer - I wish I could remember the exact things I heard. Anyway, those types of claims can be very dangerous. My parents’ next door neighbor died of testicular cancer, which was detected early and should have been easily cured, because his (CENSORED) wife insisted he only be treated with magnets and herbal teas.

Ignorance is harmful.

He’s so full of it, I’m surprised he hasn’t exploded yet. I believe that some natural cures work, so I’m not a total skeptic, and this is the absolute worst natural-cures book I’ve ever seen. He has a few things that might work mixed in with a whole bunch of useless stuff, and the whole point of the book seems to be getting people to subscribe to his website so they can get the cures that it would be “illegal” for him to put in the book. And he’s been convicted a couple of times (credit card fraud and false infomercials), so he’s obviously not in it for the good of humanity.

Didn’t harm her. She inherited his estate, right?

I haven’t read the book, but from things I’ve read and radio reports I’ve heard, he tells pretty much everyone to stop taking prescription medications, without qualifiers.

And the big howler is that he says that sun exposure doesn’t cause skin cancer - sunscreen does.

No, he says in my opinion after almost every sentance. For some reason I’m fascinated with him and I don’t know why. It must be because I’ve never seen such a snake oil salesman before. Though I do wish he would get off my TV.

I’m fascinated with him too. He’s very captivating and interesting. Full of shit, of course, but very eloquent. I remember when he was just a “memory master”, not a health expert.

I remember his radio infomercials for Coral Calcium, which is what finally got him banned from selling products, as opposed to his First Amendment-protected “opinion”. I used to entertain myself on the drive home by counting how many lies I could detect.

Start here.
My wife wasted $14 on the book so I have a beef with him.
There are also transcripts of his infomercials (on the net if you google-fu) if you want to read word for word what he actually claims in the commercials.
Stay away from this guy.
I also noticed on his website that you can buy a lifetime membership for only $500.

I’m surprised this thread didn’t have a single reply: YES.

Here is a transcript of Trudeau’s “infomercial.”
