Yes, northern MN, N. Dakota and Montana can be horrible because it’s not just the temperature, but the wind can really cool you down fast. 40 below keeps the riff-raff out.
The Iron Range is known as a great spot for cold weather testing new cars, batteries, tires, etc. Locals can tell almost immediately when a group of testers shows up from warmer lands. It’s entertainment for sure.
The cold didn’t get to me so much until recently. As I age, my arthritis lets me know just how cold it is, even before I get out of bed.
