If I take my man thong off and put it on the floor next to my bed does it communicate information to the bacon platter that I lovingly made for my lady-friend that is next to the bed? Is the bacon platter communicating with my man thong?

It would seem to me some information has to be transferred and some form of communication has to be going on to explain why they are attrached to each other through gravity. Are they also affecting each other through any of the other 3 forces? Is there information being transferred? How?

Yes. There are forces interacting between your thong and the bacon. In addition to gravity, there’s also electromagnetic forces.

I wouldn’t call these forces “communication” as they don’t encode and share information between intelligent actors (unless that bacon’s turned and you really need to wash your undies).

Depends on the intelligence level of the assorted crabs, lice, ticks, and fleas making the trip. They might be able to give quite a dissertion about the bacon platter, you should ask them.

Why isn’t communication? Computers communicate and they are not intelligent? If information is shared why is it not communication?

I thought GQ was for questions with a factual answer? This would seem to have a factual answer.

The question could be rephrased is there communication of 4 forces between objects? I just my man thong and a bacon platter as examples.
