Is Oprah a bit of a wagon?

As above.

I was reading a piece on another website, and they quoted Oprah being incredibly insulting to these two guests while backstage.

Is the whole TV persona an act, or is she really that nice, and she just had a bad day?

I have no idea of the answer to the OP, but I have to ask…what is the definition of “wagon” that you’re using in your thread title? I have seriously never heard the word used that way before.

From Urban Dictionary:

Never ran into it myself, either.

You learn something new every day, I guess.

As to the OP, I have no idea how she actually is in person, but one report of her having an altercation with a guest backstage really doesn’t mean anything. It makes for a good story, though, given her usual public image of beneficence, but that very fact would make me look at the supposed incident with suspicion.

I know what a pie wagon is.

Rachael Ray doesn’t like her.

:o
Sorry, it’s a common term used in Ireland.

Is she a diva sometimes? Most likely. But I don’t think her persona is totally an act either.

I think Oprah once described herself as being a kind person, but not really a nice person, if that makes sense. Basically, she is very giving to people who need it and she can be cordial, but she doesn’t go out of her way to be super nice and buddy-buddy. That is unless you’re a famous celebrity on her show.

Sounds to me like it might be Cockney rhyming slang for “dragon”, except it would be unusually straightforward.

I’ve heard of pussy wagon. OK, that was just in** Grease**.

I still think Oprah is a bitch for wearing red to her Legends celebration.

Two levels removed, but the wife of a (former) co-worker used to work on the show and said Oprah was a bitch.

According to the National Enquirer.

I think she’s evolved a titanic ego, and whether you come away thinking she’s “nice” will fully depend on how slavishly you’re willing to smooch her enormous black ass.

I’m missing something- what’s the problem with that?

It was a “black and white” ball- everyone was REQUIRED to wear black or white, without exception.

Except Herself, who dressed in red. But it was all about her guests, of course.

She invited legendary black women to a dinner and asked them to wear black and/or white. Then she showed up in red.

I was thinking “wagon hitch.”

okay, i will now try and use wagon on this side of the pond. give a whirl see if it catches on.

If the “legends” were required to wear black & white, wouldn’t Oprah wearing black & white be presumptuous, as if she were defining herself as one of the “legends”?

(Not scare quotes…I just don’t know what constitutes legendary in this context)

I’m thinking “covered wagon,” which pretty much describes her size, these days.
