Is pink now acceptable as a highlight on men’s sneakers?

I have a nice pink button up shirt. I was a bit hesitant about it at first, but the more I’ve worn it the more I’ve liked it. I don’t know if I’d go for pink on shoes though, but I guess I never thought I’d go for pink shirts either.

I work with high school students.

Pink is pretty acceptable. Urban fashion in general has taken a turn to the fabulous- I regularly see young men in rhinestones, pearl necklaces, very coordinated outfits and shiny materials. I think that incorporating a bit of the feminine is the new way to show that you live beyond social norms.

When my husband was shopping for an upcoming funeral (keep your fingers crossed) he insisted on a pink shirt. He looks really good in pink.

Yeah, seriously! Pink is my favorite color, though I prefer dark or hot pinks to light. Really, though, it’s all good! And men in pink? Bring it on! We’ll match that way.

Oh. That’s what I figured. I don’t wear that type of jean. However, you can have my capris when you pry them from my cold dead ass.

There’s an image I could have done without. (No disrepect meant to your warm, live ass. For all I know, it’s lovely.)

Bubblegum fan eh?

Pink is showing up more and more in men’s fashions lately, possibly as a retro-80s thing.

It would be very  If that is true.

Btw way, I went shopping today, and picked up the shoes. One heck of a VERY bad picture of them can be found here.

Sorry, I don’t have access to a camera right now to take a better picture right now.

You can find the shoes at here except they don’t have them with pink strips.

It’s a color. It has nothing to do with “those retro '80s.” I hate this meme and want it to die perhaps more than the “Oh wow, a man in pink!” bit.

:smack:

Congratulations, pink existed in the 1980s. It was also a fixture of the 1990s and most other decades brought to you by the visible light spectrum.

I think my utter revulsion at the concept of “retro” is making me a bit of a prick, so I’ll chill.

Chee, ya think so?

You’re not a prick. You sound at least as squeagie by retro 80s as I was when retro 70s hit. But pastels in general were in fact VERY 80’s.

Pink is not necessarily pastel, though.

There are certainly shades of pink that are tied into a look popular in the mid-late '80s into the early '90s, but even those shades can be taken out of that context.
