The color PINK equal oppertunity for all?

Is pink just for women anymore? And whats your favorite Color…:D:confused::smiley:

Pink is not just for women . . . just like purses.

(Yes, I’m starting to see a theme in your threads.)

Since the only place to buy pink dressshirts for men is at pansy-ass stores like Brooks Brothers, obviously it is completely abnormal for men to wear pink.

Alert: just looking at pink menswear turns you instantly gay. You’ve been warned.

And it case it is necessary:

Men can wear pink, but it must be limited to shirts only (polo-style and button ups). Pink t-shirts are only acceptable if they mention beer, power tools, cars, or some witty turn of phrase that refers to (implying your) freakishly large male genitalia. Pink t-shirts with cartoon characters are not acceptable. Pink socks, underwear, shorts, and pants are also not acceptable attire for men to be wearing.

I like to wear my pink leather jacket when I’m feeling sassy.

Are my questions offending you?

((((( you have just certified my research, partially))):smack:

So many men look good in pink (and purple!) - I’d say more so than a lot of women, but that might be because women tend to go for candy-pink while guys go for more subdued and pastel shades.

I’d actually go so far as to say that many men look better in pink and purple than they do in blue!

I would have to agree:D

I hope you are certifying that I find the question of whether it is “wrong” for a gender to wear a certain color stupid and offensive. Colors are for whoever wants to wear them.

I am starting to think your sarcasm-meter is turned off. For example, by calling Brooks Brothers, the most conservative menswear seller around, “pansy-ass” that was supposed to be a big flashing neon sign that you are experiencing over-the-topness, and thus, sarcasm. To clarify: my post meant the OPPOSITE of what the words said. Hence, the roll-eyes. Which were not only necessary, apparently, but ignored by you.

Pink is fine. But are these things OK for men?

  • long, flowing hair rippling down their backs
  • short skirts
  • ruffle blouses
  • nail polish
  • makeup
  • brazilian wax

(just throwing out a few more thread ideas  )

And yeah, ** The Lady Within **I do find your series of posts all essentially asking “Is X or Y totally gay?” to be a little offensive. Don’t you wonder about any other things, other than what articles of clothing a man can wear and still be heterosexual (hint: all of them).

Just like any other color, it depends on the guy. Some look good in pink, others don’t.

I loathe pink. But then, since I have red hair, most shades of pink look horrible on me.

My favorite color is purple, followed closely by turquoise and black.

Hello Again: I don’t see homophobia in the posts. From the username, I imagine the OP to be a man interested in wearing more feminine clothing, and wondering how far he can go without incurring censure from the general public.

If so, perhaps he should ask and get all his answers rather than “is A gay?”… no, … “Is B gay?” … no … “Is C gay” no… . and on and on till we’ve evaluated his entire wardrobe for potential homosexuality.

There’s no universal standard for what prompts public censure anyway. It depends on your local culture. There’s a guy in NYC who wears a cat on his head (a live cat) and people hardly give him a second glance. I seen a guy on the subway playing a fullsized harp. (note to the OP: playing the harp also does not make you gay). I work in the financial district and loads of the wall street types are wearing pink. It seems to be very in right now actually.

Personally I loathe pink and have rejected it from a young age (I am female). I find it just as offensive to imply that women should or must wear pink or that they always like it. And lastly but not leastly, I have some extra hate on for pink right now due to the Susan G. Komen flap.

I like pink, and I’m not especially gay. What I hate are statements like “It takes a real man to wear pink.”

Did anyone but me hear that in Wash’s voice?

Just me? Oh, ok.
:frowning:

How about Homer Simpson’s “I’m not popular enough to wear pink!”

Man, I’m just a font of useless pop culture quotes today.

I didn’t, but now I do. Thanks, I LOLd.

I am female, pink is my favorite color, and I support the right of anyone, whatever their gender, to wear as much pink as they like as often as possible.

[sub]In addition to the political implications, this whole Susan G. Komen thing really saddens me, because their campaigns are a prime source of pink.[/sub]

I can’t wear pink. Not for lack of trying, but The Wife continually vetos my attempts to purchase salmon bermuda shorts. All the guys at the yacht club wear them, but no! She keeps pointing out “We don’t belong to the yacht club” as if that mattered…
