The guy was a financier making billions yet as soon as he gets to the White House he starts putting out dumb tweets labeling the release of his financial disclosure at the Export-Import Bank as a felony. What the fuck? As the Washington Post reports the public can request to see these documents, and the article notes that the form is “publicly available upon request.”
Does he really not know this? A financier and not know about the most basic of financial regulations? I am totally puzzled by this. Trump too does it all the time, Spicer did it, they all fucking do it, make statements completely opposed to the facts and easily checkable by anyone with access to the net. This is beyond weird.
I think the best explanation so far for so many of the fuckups of Trump and his team have been simply stupidity and carelessness. These are incompetent and stupid people, for the most part. And they’re all working together, magnifying and bouncing back-and-forth the stupid decisions.
They’re not stupid about everything – obviously they connected to a big segment of the voting public. But they’re, so far, very stupid about governing (related to any other presidency – maybe smarter than the local lawn care business), managing information, coordinating actions, etc.
Was he really or did he “evolve” in the past to get to where he just evolved from?
How could anyone, this late in life, truly make a complete 180 on so many major issues in such a short period of time?

Alpha male business bigwigs just can’t grasp the notion that people in DC don’t work for them, have no reason to show loyalty, do what they think will get them re-elected, and don’t consider it their job to please the White House. Impressing and intimidating flunkies may have got them ahead in their own businesses, but DC wasn’t built that way. They don’t understand the Constitution was designed to prevent self-entitled monarchs from achieving power, and they are those monarchs.
The guy became an idiot the day he started working for Trump. The rational choice would’ve been to take all those billions he has and go live in a quiet, tropical paradise somewhere. If he has a need for stress and excitement, that’s what rock climbing and jumping out of planes is for.
He and they know this, but they realize that some 90% of the public doesn’t and of those 90% won’t bother to check. So at a rough scale 20% will realize he’s lying but 80% will take him at his word and think that he is the vicitm.
And when he wanted to make a point about dignity and respect he quoted… Joe Paterno. Because when respect for the office of POTUS is in question, of course you want to bring up a guy who covered up child sex abuse.
