Is SmileyDeath gonna make it?

Perhaps they have nothing better to do, being stuck in their igloos all day

There are much better things to do when you’re stuck in an igloo all day… our eskimo women are HOT!!!

Well, I hope you enjoy Irony.

Are you aware there’s a difference in what you’re exposed to in a Junior High curriculum and in what you’re exposed to in a university course.
Regarding becoming an English professor: here is a list of eligibility requirements for University of California:
Requirements
[li]History/Social Science - 2 years required[/li]
[li]English - 4 years required[/li]
[li]Mathematics - 3 years required, 4 years recommended[/li]
[li]Laboratory Science - 2 years required, 3 years recommended–at least 2 different disciplines [/li]
[li]Language other than English - 2 years required, 3 years recommended[/li]
[li]College preparatory elective - 1 year required[/li]
[li]Visual and Performing Arts - 1 year required
[/li]That’s just to get into the place! Once you’re in, then you have to follow this chart: UC Davis General Catalog: Bachelor’s Requirements.
I daresay that most universities have similar requirements for both admission and graduation. You should check the requirements for the university you intend to attend and then tailor your high school course selection to that end.

I’m canadian. Find something that applys to me.

Argh can’t sleep.

Why just teens?

There have been quite a few new posters that have run up a high post count. Usually people get tired of reading their crap and start to ignore them. That tends to make them leave the board after a bit of not getting attention. My bet is he’ll get tired of the boards and leave after a couple of weeks.

Which is not a bad thing, necessarily… I decided to go into linguistics rather than some physical science or computer programming because of my hate affair with higher math and calculus. After the second semester at cegep I was just about going crazy.

Anyway, hi to the new Canadian. I’m Matt from Montreal. Hold your own in a conversation, and you’ll no doubt be welcomed here. We play rough, but we’re friendly

You’ve all fed it. Will it come back for more of the same? Probably. Will it give itself away? Probably.

I’m not.

Not what?

What is the purpose of this thread? Other than act a little impatient for responses in a couple of threads, what did SmileyDeath do to deserve a Pit thread, exactly? Or some of the put-downs in here? I mean, really?

Friendly.

You nitwit.

pan

You’re right kabbes. I’m a nitwit. Should have read more carefully.

What was I thinking. This is the pit. kabbes you are nothing but a %^$&#*.

Well done. You have saved yourself the peril of me putting on my scary face.

Can I go back to being dour and uncooperative to newbies now please?

Jolly good.

Apparently I posted the last exactly 1 minute too late.

::Puts on scary face:: ----> Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

Now I’m seeing Alan Partridge pulling his “scary monster” face.

Excellent! That was exactly what I had in mind when I wrote it.

Ah come on you guys, he’s new and he is maybe a little overzealous and hopefully he will slow down, but at least give the kid a chance, eh?

It isn’t like there aren’t any highly annoying adults around this place and some very wonderful youngsters (Merc and San to name a few).

Knowing to capitalize proper nouns and words derived from them is occasionally useful for aspiring English professors, as is knowing the correct forms of verbs ending in “y,” such as “apply.”

Relevant enough?
